The photographer
He earns his living as a photographer in front of Hawa Mahal with the camera that already his grandfather used.

contence... no matter where I am, no matter how life treats me, I don't expect much from HER. not all of us are living the same period of TIME. not only another place but also time shifts back and forth...

You are great because you are still able to see the difference...
Best wishes.

Helmut: what a surprise to immediately recognize this man from my trip to Jaipur 5 years ago (the persistence of memory, as Dali would say) - I paid him to take my picture as well and watch him develop it. Right in front of the palace of winds if I remember correctly. Uncanny! Fine regards, Caleb
Helmut Schadt  Cal, you are completely right. As I wrote in the comment to the picture he is working in front of Hawa Mahal, Palace of Winds.
Me too let make a portrait of me by him and was fully satisfied. Astonishing what good results he get with his in comparison to modern high tech photography stone age equipment!
Thanks and kind regards,
Helmut
Cal Coleman  Yes - amazing - surreal to see a small scene mutually recognized in this big world. - nice portfolio... c

And still works!:-)

Robert

So Gegensätzlich! Man muss es lieben oder hassen dieses Land. Ich habe mich für das erstere entschieden weil es so besser funktioniert mit dem Leben hier.

All people whom you photographed look attractive.
The person coming out is relaxed, and it is a natural posture.

This photograph is a very wonderful scene!
Helmut Schadt  Takashi san domo arrigato gozaimasu for your kind comment. Very much appreciated.
This photographer was a very friendly man. As I did write already to Ivan Bui I had my portrait taken by him with his old fashioned but artful method:-)
I wish you a good time in Osaka,

Very very nice Helmut ! Hope you seized the opportunity to get your portrait done !
Congrats,
Helmut Schadt  Ivan, thank you very much.
Yes, I had my portrait taken by him. First a negative on paper, then he photographed this negative again on paper. All done manually just by opening and closing the cover in front of the lens;-)
And the portrait was fine. I will later show it at fotocommunity.de together with this picture.

Have a nice weekend,
Helmut
