how come to be like this? i like it
Jarle Hagavei  Hi jaka. If I understand your question correctly; this is the aurora borealis, aka the northern lights, combined with a good camera, a lens, a tripod and about 20 sec exposure time. The northern lights are generated when high energy particles from the sun collide with particles in the atmosphere. Different elements, oxygen, nitrogen, xeon and argon gives off different colored light when struk by these particles. You should consider a trip to the artic in winter time, maybe you can cath her ;-)

best regards, Jarle

Jarle Hagavei  You poor soul, how dissapointing for you. You have no idea how many hours I have been standing waiting, in temperatures well below -25, waiting for my favourite gir to show her colors, waiting, waiting, waiting and then leaving with not as much as glimmer of her presence. But sometimes, just once in a while, she peeks through and lets me catch her. She taunts me, flickers and is gone again.

She is a illusive lady, that Aurora ;-)
mkoo  Maybe he didn't catch the aurora.. but where are the stars in his pics ? Maybe he didn't took off the lens cap :)) (just kidding)
Ralf Stelander  Yeah, talk about playing hard to get! =) At least I get to see it thanks to your great patience!

God i am so jealous of people in Norway for getting to see this stuff. Nothing like this happens in Southern California....Awesome job capturing this magical time!
Jarle Hagavei  Thank's Wiz

Norway is a free country that welcome guests from all corners of the globe, even southern California ;-) Why don't you make arrangements for a litle trip? You won't be able to see Aurora if you don't go hunting for her ;-)

Must have been a fantastic experience to be there.
Thanks for sharing this awesome capture!
Jarle Hagavei  Thank you

The Aurora is always a great experience. She is dificult to find and even more so to capture. Fortunate am I to live so close to her home in the arctic, to date her frequently and to capture her essens when she allows it.
