Good to see that mug on the front page. Now get outside and take some "Real" nature photos. It's not to cold nor is it too dark (he says from sunny CA)

Jerry Berry lol. I actually had snow on the ground at my house this morning. But didn't need my jacket. I have a down jacket I haven't worn in years. Doesn't fit me anymore.
Anyway, my mug would never be pretty enough to go on the front page so I am jealous as far as that is concerned. But then if I added a bit of a blur ......

If I had my wishes, I would like to see a hint of a catch light in your right eye. I kind of see one but would like to see it a bit more pronounced. Left eye too, but mostly right eye. PS it and don't tell anybody. They'll never know.

Kevin Ng A number of others did mention the light in the eye - take a look at my response to Anders below - I did try to PS a catchlight but it just didn't look right - once again, thanks for the comments Jerry - your taking the time to look and comment means a lot!

I thought it said, "Eggo makes me try again." I wondered who "eggo" was. The I realized it was "ego"! I guess it's good that ego is pushing you along :P Excellent self-portrait, Kevin!

Nice portrait. I agree with Anders though... just a tad more eye sparkle would be nice... not over the top though, just a smidgen.

Hi Kevin,
Great self portrait. I like the lighting and the strong contrasts with pit dark black. I'm a little curious about what the result would be if you brightened up the eye just a tiny little. Have you already tried that and concluded this was the better version?

Kevin Ng Hi Anders,

Thanks for those very observant comments - I did try to brighten it up but the light was coming through the top of the window and absent cloning in more light into the eye, the amount of dodging that would give it sparkle seemed to take away the overall mood of the picture. I had to stand in a certain spot to have my big head cover the back window and while I could have turned my head a little, it would have ruined the half lit and half dark aspect. I really like how you focus on the little details and your comments are very much appreciated! - best regards...
