I risk to go against majority, but I don't like this photo. They may be heroes, the scene may be dangerous, but the photo itself is not that good. First of all it's overprocessed. I can't see the reason for such heavy tonemapping. Then, the composition is pretty bad. They're set right in the middle, water flows out of the frame, the truck is halved... Last, it doesn't show any action, any emotion. They're caught in awkward pose, we don't get to see or feel any rush or danger that the scene appears to offer.

alabama will all due respect, the screening process has passed, davor, as has the appropriate opportunity to voice your opposition to a photo being published on the site.

Just a note to you. I don't think it is "ever" too late to voice an opinion about an image. As long as it is respectful. Just because an image has been accepted does not mean it is a perfect image. And we can all learn from constructive criticism can't we? This image may have flaws but it was determined that other aspects of the image warranted acceptance to be published. Davor, in his opinion, obviously saw some flaws that could be useful for future considerations by the member that owns the image. Nothing more, nothing less.

alabama i agree. as a matter of fact, someone critiqued my photo after it was published and i understood exactly where they were coming from. however, there's a big difference in being helpful and offering suggestions and just slamming something to bits.
luckily, until the above, i've only seen the most tactful conduct at 1x.
