You have excellent and beautiful style.
alabama  dragan, i haven't been logging on here as much recently, so i am behind on activity. thank you so much for the encouragement. as you see i've only managed 4 photos here... although i've submitted dozens.... ha haha. i think that i should try more but i guess that i keep waiting for that very very perfect shot so as not to waste another rejection... maybe i should not get so hung up on perfection, however, since none of my shots that have made it on 1x have been technically perfect, anyway.

you make me think that i should dive into my images and see if i can come up with something to slide under the radar... something that tugs the emotions and draws in the heart, perhaps... in spite of having cross eyes... ha haha.

again, thank you for being so supportive.
Dragan M. Babovic  Dear Alabama, this site is specific in many directions. There are really high quality pictures t, but there are and many images that are under average. Sorry, my English is so bad. There is no clear criteria for choosing picture for publishing here. I think it depends, as normal, from mood in one specific moment. But this is taste of crew and people who vote in screening. I found your very nice style with so sensitive way of thinking and expression. So, this judge is not so objective to be truth about somebody.s photographic level or work. The most important thing is what you think about yourself and if you have heart and power to create and live for this kind of living. So bee cool, and go on. I have just one picture here, and many rejected too, but it is not important. Founders said at beginning that this is their gallery and they want top photos by their criteria. I respect that. I know some cases that they rejected some photos that got the first prize on very serious contest with international importance. I dont know who has right. But you certainly have right. Good luck.
alabama  thank you dragan. i read your words and i can understand what you say about the truth behind an image and the feeling and expression. sometimes a photo moves you and you cannot say exactly why. it's not perfectly composed nor completely in focus, but it is beautiful. i do see a lot of these types of photos that end up making it through screening and gracing the 1x site. and i also see those photos that are sublimely perfect beyond belief. i enjoy both types, but i find myself wondering just how the hell it can be that great. i'd love to know all the tricks and secrets... it would be wonderful, wouldn't it??? and OH! the compositors!!! the compositors are amongst my favorite 1xers! oh, the intricacies, the patience... the skill. one of these days i am going to design a divinely composited photo... one of these days. ;)

at any rate, i agree that the best secret is passion and i'm glad that you find some of that in my images. i have doubted all the photos that i've had rejected except for a couple, so most times i understand. when i haven't understood what went wrong i've posted for critique and had some incredibly spot on truths thrown my way that led me into better understanding... things i would have NEVER thought of or realized on my own that could have made all the difference had i been in tune prior to the photoshoot.

all in all there's a ton to learn here, however discouraging it can sometimes be. please continue to submit. i know you will have more images up, and i cannot wait to see them all, one by one!

thank you again so much for your encouragement and advice!
Dragan M. Babovic  Alabama, thank you for your nice letter. Well, I was criticised on this site because I took link to my only one picture here, so Robert, owne of this site Jacob and other said to me that thi is not good and correct. I was not agree, but what to say. I answered that I think that this site is fo changing thoughts, critiques, opinions etc. It was on FORUM. Robert wrote something like LINKS ON PICTURES.

so I can not send you link to my photos there. I send you this private message. So you can see what was more my photos on these links:

alabama  thank you so much herman! i hope you are doing well. :)
And you made it. That dirty knee is admirable!
alabama  i'm referring to your "let me grab my glasses," comment. made me laugh.
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  I did it really. Today my eyes don't work well and I'm seeing now those freckels as dirt again.

"With freckels or without freckels, that's the question".
alabama  yes, i know too well about the eyes failing. i wore two different converse out the door the other day. and people just thought i was cool... but nope, i'm near blind.
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  Ah, you are blind? Nope, you are cool...
My eyes don't work because they don't rest. They need to be closed sometimes.
alabama  thank you kaveh. it's her freckles dusting up her knee. :)
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  OK, then let me wear my glasses...

...Oh freckles? Even more admirable ;-)
alabama  lol. you're funny.
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  hmmm, am I? well, maybe sometimes ;-)
honestly, I like freckles very much

I see what you mean about the buildings in the back ground. I've never known how to fix that, but I've been told it goes away when you use expensive lenses. I get it a lot with my kit lenses. But I've never seen it with my other two special ones, so maybe there is truth to it. Not that I've really tested it out. Anyways, congrats!!!!!!!!!!! I know there is so much more to come :-)
alabama  thank you robert! great to hear from you!

I like it very much. Perhaps not a landscape image, perhaps you may reconsider the cat. mal
alabama  yes, mal, agreed. that was an accident - the category - but once i submitted for screening, i decided to let it be. can you change your category choice once it's been published? thank you for your comments. much appreciated.
