Under the cross
Crowd waiting for the cyclists to climb the Muur van Geraardsbergen, Flanders Tour (Ronde van Vlaanderen), Belgium. This photo confirms the old thesis that cycling is a Catholic sport.

Really great. Excellent framing.
Made me think of the sermon on the mount (and I'm NOT a religious man;-)

impressive work Bert. that cross says so much about what lies below. although, it is perhaps a sign of the times that all have turned their backs on that cross
HenriAntoine  good to be home for a sec Koen?
Koen Pieters  no lol. a sec only increases the longing :-(

This is outstanding! Really love it!
HenriAntoine  Thanks Alberto

LOL, talk about overpopulation! A whole mountain of humans all facing away from certain influences. Lots of stories in this one!
HenriAntoine  indeed, the facing away part, the shattered concentration, is one of the things that fascinates me here.

Excellent image Bert. Top marks for impact no doubt. Bryan
HenriAntoine  five indications of lack of impact in screening! I don't mind, I like the photo, it leads the eye around and around. Thanks

Love the way screening reveals your style Bert, just looking at your gallery and it really does look like a ( gallery ) and is very enjoyable.

Pooch.

Hi Bert. Yesterday seemed to have quite a good selection in screening, so when I saw this I wondered whether it would get through, especially as the companion picture 'Cycling is a Catholic sport' doesn't seem to grace these pages. A classic, in my view.
HenriAntoine  Thanks Edmund, I think that the version of Cathoilic sport I uploaded was not the best possible, maybe I'll give it another go once.

Bert great to see the famine has ended! & with such a memorable image! This is so strong. I like crowd images there is so much going on the crucifix at the top of the hill is a real bonus & yes it says so much.
HenriAntoine  ah well, it doesn't feel like a famine Gerard. It's simply that most people on here are not wild about plain film images. I can live with that as long as the good ones, like this one, come through.

Great capture!!!
HenriAntoine  thanks Lucian. The irony is that I just sold the lens I took it with after the rest of the set was robbed from me last year. After the coffee I am now preparing I will go out and meet the buyer. Thank you beloved Zeiss Biogon 21!
Lucian Olteanu  It happened to me,also, but I don't sell anything!!!

Great Street. 1X needs more of it....
HenriAntoine  Categories hard for this one. Documentary would be better I guess, regretted not having said that after uploading. But hey, it's here now.

This was a favorite in screening, though I don't remember to saw the comment about it, it's nice to know more about, anyway it's a great image, Bert! Love it!
all the best
Codrin
HenriAntoine  Thanks Codrin, I added the comment after publication, too often I've been punished in screening with remarks such as "a photo should stand on it's own, the comment is distracting".
