Great shot John. I know this view as I stayed in Wasdale Head last October, and walked up Scafell Pike in the snow. It's a fantastic place, so remote. You're so lucky living in the Lakes!

John Parminter Cheers Tim, as it happens I was up there this afternoon for an hour or snow using my 200mm to capture Scafell summit in the snow and clouds.

Supere light on this austere landscape.

John Parminter Cheers Gary, it doesn't always look austere up Wasdale, in fact it was recently voted 'Britains best view', not this particular angle but one from the lake towards the mountains. I have to say though it's not my 'best view' even though I live close by, I reserve this accolade to some Scottish locations which hopefully you may start seeing on this site.

John Parminter Thanks again Andrew, I was actually running over the fell on the left, Middle Fell, and on my descent saw that the Sun was going to break the cloud layer before setting, I've never ran down a fell so fast to retrieve my camera gear out of the car...

John Parminter Thanks Mal, I really have no excuse not to photograph Wasdale as I live very close by. I was up Scafell at the weekend as well but in waist high snow!

Nuclear colors.

John Parminter Thank Ivan, beleive it or not, this was how it really looked for about a minute then the light went. Interestingly, in screening the rejection comments were problems with colour but this is an accurate record of them!
