Very nice. Where did you go and how did you eye this scene to get this capture? Was this how you saw it?

John Colbensen This is my girlfriends birthplace..almost.She grew up here and her parents live here still.It's a beatuful place and there's an alley right below the mainhouse. On a weekend visit I saw that the fog was building up and I couldn't resist .I went for a stroll and came to this place (which I've photographed 10 times before) It was a stillness in the air and i felt so tranquile.Colours were quite dull due to the fog but the stillness was enormous. This is what I want to convey in my picture..the stillness.And this is how I saw it....with one eye open ;)

measekite This is great. Where exactly was this? What equipment did you use? Tripod? This does not look like BW and does not look like color but it has to be one or the other. It is almost like the colors are so muted that one would think it is desaturated.

I certainly would like to see the others you took in this place.

John Colbensen The exact place that this was taken is in Fiksdal,between Aalesund and Molde in Norway.I used a Nikon D200 with a Sigma 10-20 mm....handheld. I took this in colours,then converted it to black and white. I then made two layers from the b/w file and toned one of them in pale blue and the other layer was toned in a pale yellow. I then put the blue layer on top of the yellow one and use dthe eraser on around 30 % and erased those points where the light would warm up the leaves just a tiny bit.The colours are very close to those on the original but I wanted the image "cleaner" to enhance the mood that day :)
I took several shots that day..I just love those foggy days :)

John Colbensen Thank you thank you Guro :) I see you wanna have some more contrast to it. I've tried that but the foggy feeling looses its impact that way.Increasing contrast will decrease the light fog..:)

John Colbensen Thank you so much Daria.1X is probably one of the toughest places to get pictures through the needle eye. But this is the place I've learnt more than any other site.This site makes me a better photographer most and second it makes me a better editor. Earlier on I focused more on the effect,now I focus more on the mood.I think that works :)
