Effective compressed view of Delhi street. I agree with previous comment about your post processing, your images suffer from what looks like too much shadow/highlight adjustment. I´d cut off the ends in levels and go for a more punchy look. Even if the haze is the natural Delhi look. ;o)-max-
Prateek Dubey  Thank you for your suggestion max. Infact in this picture there is no direct shadow highlight adjustment. There is levels and a large pixel radius high pass filter. Personally I like to have shadow detail, so I as a matter of routine overexpose, then recover highlights in raw conversion. Is a matter of personal taste, but I appreciate your suggestion. Maybe next time I'll try your way...Thanx again..

A fascinating image. So much fills the frame yet instead of chaos there is a sense of peace and harmony. The structures show signs of wear yet it endures and the people like a current flows smoothly and without disruption.
Prateek Dubey  Thank you Richard.I cannot say for peace, as the place is very noisy but there is harmony in every aspect of existence there. Including the dust which has settled long ago on the wires...

Very nice scene, but I think you exagerated a little with the shadow/highlight tool.
Prateek Dubey  Thank you Alessandro. I guess my 'Indianness' shows here in exageration..

I find this to be interesting. It shows how others live.

It seems so crowded that I cannot see how one can think. I am surprised it was taken with a 200mm lens. I thought it would be much wider. I do like the muted colors.
Prateek Dubey  Thank you measekite. The picture was taken at least 70meters from the scene. I cropped it from left as there was an unavoidable distracting element. So actually the whole scene is a bit wider..

Great contrast between colors/black&white and good compression of the space: beautifully crowded!
Prateek Dubey  Thank you Stem. The place is crowded all the time, rather this one was shot early on a sunday morning...

I'm in HK now and you have just inspired me to seek out a shot like this. I have done lots already from street level - I need to get up a floor or two!
Prateek Dubey  I'm sure HK will have more colorfull streets. Its much more modern I suppose. But dirt and filth in India add a different flavor to images. Happy shooting...

A shot of great interest Prateek. 'Documentary' such as this is what we need much more of here and
I hope you will keep a series going in the same style and genre. I for one would love to 'inside' the
homes of India as would many others I suspect. Where exactly is this. Well done.
Prateek Dubey  Thank you Stephen. Will do my best. I'll try to post some pictures of inside the home of India's middleclass. Hopefully they'll be published. This is a picture of one of the 'Galis' ( roughly translating to an inside street) of old Delhi. Just behind the Grand Mosque ( Jama Masjid ).

an amazing insight into the your country. The wiring must be an electricians nightmare! I love pictures like this they would make enthralling jigsaw puzzles! Well done Pra!
Prateek Dubey  Thank you Gerard. Its amazing how anything works here, yet it works when it isn't broke. And to top it all people know how to fix things amidst all this chaos. Actually the image is the true reflection of India. Teaming with people and their devices. The new ones are just piled up on top the old, without any hesitation or a desire to remove the old. I'm sure many wires don't carry any current at all...
