i love it as is. you got it right. she is divided appropriately. the line is straight across her shoulder tops and i think the fact that she's "detached" head from body lends the image to poetic metaphor. also the long lean body is not cut into. it fits wonderfully in the pane.

joan kocak thank you Codrin...later I looked and thought maybe the bar of the window should be lower, right across her shoulders.....? too late, that day, the light, the snow, was really lovely

Koen Pieters was wondering. as it is now, the proportion between head and body seems a bit awkward... as if her head is too small for the body ? Wonder if it is the horizontal (its placement) that creates that impression ?

Mind you, could just as well be my dead brain cells :-)

anyway, it's a very good photo Joan. Just something I was wondering about when I saw your own comment regarding the matter.

joan kocak Hi Koen...I think it looks that way because she is wearing a coat that is too big for her (mine). It makes her shoulders look larger than they are and therefore that may be the cause of the "out of proportion" look! I definitely can see what you are referring to, and I think it's the coat.....thanks Koen

Koen Pieters yes, you are right Joan. it's the long sleeves, where normally the hands are supposed to pop out, that gave me the earlier impression.
