This is an inspiring piece combining form and texure. I'm curious to know how you were able to get the sky so dark and contrasty, polarizer and red filter? or dodging and burning in PS?

Amazing view. How did you take it, is it shot from a cliff or an airplane? I really appreciate how this photo captures the natural patterns in nature. The sand dunes look almost like lightning.
Dan Ransom  Thanks Jacob. The shot is actually taken from ground level, with a 17-40 lens. The dunes are sweeping up towards the sky, so you aren't actually seeing the true horizon. The actual dunes were only .5 mile squared, I'd imagine. Fairly small. To put it in perspective, there is a small insect trail in the far bottom right of the image.

In the tradition of Weston and others, but with it's own rather darker and stormy feel. The simple contrast between the two motifs works especially well
