Amazing winter atmosphere!
Doug Roane  Thank you. It's great to finally get snow in my area - the last few years before hadn't given much. My wife's not so happy about it, though - she really hates the cold ;)

Doug Roane  Thank you, Vic - I'd always been hesitant to endure subzero (Farenheight) temps to take photos, but the mist over the river is so wonderful when it's really cold that I've been back several times. Now I'm hooked, and it's not so bad when you're dressed for it (the adrenaline from the 'photographer's high' certainly helps too!) :D

Doug Roane  Thank you, egon. There is minimal processing on this - pretty much straight from the camera with a slight crop and slight contrast adjustment in the RAW processor. It's interesting that several folks have commented on processing. This kind of scene must be rare for some folks, but the very cold outside air produces alot of steam from the river, resulting in the wonderful misty atmosphere.

Beautiful, all those geese.
Very nice dark line of sharp and contrastful birds.
