The Stray Cats
Street photography

taken with a canon powershot A95

It's interesting to go back and see your older, earlier work. Some of the more popular ones had and have the exposure, the colors, the composition, the light... it's all there. Yet they hold no magic for me anymore. Too pictorial, too one-dimensional. Too... boring.
But then something like this, which never fared too well among viewers, never lost any of it's appeal to me.

thank you for viewing. hope you enjoyed it.

Really shows the weight of the world on mans shoulders and natural chilled existence the cats can find in moments within that world, you certainly did some fine shooting with that compact koen and it certainly proves its not what you've got its more how you use it.
Koen Pieters  "and it certainly proves its not what you've got its more how you use it"

thanks Pooch. It's what the wife tells me every evening :-(

Hey hey..! Back then this photo alone increased my interest in photography. For me one of the top stand out shots from your "earlier works".

happy holidays
Koen Pieters  :-) remember well how you were one of the few who was captivated by it Tommy. I'm glad it still holds up after this time. Many others didn't. Happy hols to you too Tommy !

Well done. Never guessed this was yours in screening. Agree with the others about the cat on the right. An amusing picture.
Koen Pieters  think this was from before your time on epz Edmund. Thanks. Enjoy the holidays

What a great photo! It again proves that camera doesn't matter. The whole scene is excellent but that popping head gives it magic.
Koen Pieters  technically the compact only just pulled this one off Davor. Waiting now to buy the Panasonic G1, which gives me much of that compacts versatility and ease of use (that swivelscreen especially), but with a much better sensor to back it up :-)

Very well done, Koen, no matter at all what camera you've used for this, it's just excellent! Liked it a lot in screening!
all the best to you
Codrin
Koen Pieters  Thank you so much Codrin. The little thing is being used by my 6 year old daughter now. It's half broken though... zoom doesn't work anymore.

Awesome! Did you lay in wait?
Koen Pieters  no Richard. I used the swivelscreen on my A95. just sat there and waited, trying to get a decent shot out of the cats (there were more) and that pile (must have been a Sunday, as those are a food vendor's possessions), when the kitten's head popped out

Excellent, Koen :)
Koen Pieters  thank you Daria. just checked out the most popular shots on the site. Thought for a moment I accidentally went to your portfolio lol
