Books holds a lot of knowledge.. Imagination for a free mind, knowledge about history, nature and other stuff needed to keep your mind flowing free.. Love the composition and balance in colour and her expression is telling me that she is having a good time.. well done Em!

Again, you catch it, this very special feeling. You catch it and put it on my screen.
Everything fits. Composition, colors and her expression is wonderful. And I finally found out what "peruse" means, after reading this word for the third time this week. ;)

Wonderful image Emily! The light is very nice and the books on the shelf balances the image so nicely. Love the title (had to look it up though...)! I really like the feeling of this image and the expression you caught. Children are so complex. It's not all about playing, having fun, etc. You have caught a deeper side in them that is about discovery and experiencing the world.

Emily Bem  What a thoughtful comment! Yes, yes...children surprise you every day. :) I must confess, she was just playing at reading that book though, hehe! She was making up her own stories, I believe. Her reading level isn't quite there... yet ;)))
Thomas Ljungberg  All of the sudden they start reading everything. My 6 1/2 year old daughter has just "solved" the puzzle. A new world has opened for her an it's very fascinating to see. Hearing her reading small words on milk cartons, magazines, anything... Forming short sentences... Imagine the feeling of opening that door and entering a new dimension...
Playing or not, it's a great shot!
