Giacomo

Capture the magic of Venice (without 5000 tourists in the picture) and you'll be standing in the middle of the night, with expensive gear and a tripod to batter of the worst elements. This is my result.

Beautiful, beautiful image Linus!
I think that the bottom (lighted) 2cm of the image detract from the overall impression, so the photo would become even better without it. Just my thoughts...

linus Thanks Jean! That is a very interesting reflection. It might add to a tighter composition, but it would also reduce some of the "magic". In the way I developed it, I aimed for the light in the archway to provide an imagined escape, somewhere for the viewers imagination to fill in with whatever it find suiting in this setting. This might just sound like a bag of BS, but I'm actually serious :)

I don't live anywhere near Venice, have been there two times and those won't certainly be the last - for a good reason as you've illustrated :)

linus Thank You very much! You know, there are bends like these on every corner in Venice. I don't know if there is a better time to go though, in the summer there are more tourists in Venice than at Disneyland.
