What will you be doing when your ninety
This is Louis, 90 years of age !!!.. it was a freezing night in Bristol city, yet Louis was standing there, waiting for a hoot !
I have a real admiration for this young lady, such passion in her beliefs.. i've seen her in all conditions, waiting there with an empty road, waiting for a hoot of agreement.
During rush hour there is a hoot every ten seconds if not more, louis will give a happy nod to each approving driver, this is why the focus isn't so sharp on her face

Rob, I disagree with you completely. Those who honk may or may not proactively bid for peace. But your assumption is that those who honk don't actually do anything. You could be wrong. You could be right. Whatever the case is, they honked.

If it's such a bad thing to spread a hippy feel-good message then maybe I'd agree with you more. But if I drove past Louis on a cold night, I would get a feeling of hope that somebody actually cared. And if this is what's needed to kick my lazy hippy butt into doing something productive then so be it.

Hearing a series of approving honks to Louis' message is exactly what mends broken hope. This photograph is worth so much.

I like the picture and the general message, but I fail to see how people honking in the middle of a crowded highway helps peace in any way except for people living in la-la land. If people want to make a difference, they need to go do something that actually makes a difference. Maybe write a letter to a representative, say a kind word, lend a hand, donate, whatever. Pointlessly freezing your butt off with a random sign is just kind of a hippie feelgood thing.

I love how you've managed to capture the stillness of this lady in contrast with the speeding traffic next to her. A beautiful story.

lee Jordan  it was so hard to capture the right moment, her sign was moving in the wind and louis kept nodding...plus i wanted the bus number starting in the middle of the photo.... thanks Petra
