Fennec Fox
The rare and beautiful Fennec Fox exists in the world's harshest conditions. This was taken in the central Moroccan Sahara very early one morning.

Hey Stephen, wrote a haiku to go with this cute photo and added it to my haiku blog at http://naumaddicpieces.blogspot.com/ with a link back to your photo. Hopefully some of those who follow me at Twitter and on Facebook will come and visit this shot and your album. Anyway, here's the haiku:

"Wind in winds
chasing the sands
... the fennec fox."

Hope you like. -- Naumadd
Stephen Edds  That is very cool Naumadd. We just got in to London last night after a three week safari to East Africa so I hope there may be some more to inspire you !!! Thank you very much.

I loved this one when I saw it in screening a few days back. I like the very delicate feeling it has, shy comes to mind, shy and light, very beautiful!
Stephen Edds  Thank you for those kind words Ursula...I'm very happy you see it so :-)

Very nice shot Stephen. I ask myself if a little crop above, of about the half of the white zone should not give even more power to your shot. I find that this white zones is a little distracting from the so nice little fennec... Only a suggestion...
Regards, Fernand
Stephen Edds  Thank you Fernand...I'm glad you like it....I would have to disagree with your suggestion though. In my wildlife work I like to show as much 'environment' as possible. The clump of grass is important to the balance of the overall feeling and it also 'scales' the little chap which would be missed if a larger crop was undertaken.
Fernand Hick  Stephen, I understand your wildlife approach. The mine is totally different, a pure formal approach. No problem, I think it's always interessant to share our feelings about a pic.
Regards, Fernand

besides this being nature photography, it triggers the memory of that nine inch nails campain againts hurting and turnes the fanatex fox into a character. i don't know how, but you've manadged to capture a human-like expression of this rare animal.
