Strong perspective:-))
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Ben!
I'm using wide angles a lot to make the perspective the way I want, and here I was helped by the cool colors in the background to contrast the warm color foreground. And the horses, helpful too, moving excactly where I wanted them to..
The composition a bit "strange" maybe, hard to balance, but it worked this time.

Very nice capture, Lars!
I love horses :) and envy you so much about your trip to Iceland - I really hope to get there one day too :)
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Daria. I've never really been interested in horses, but now I'm thinking about getting some.. We have land to keep them on too, out in the islands in the west.
I think this is a good time to go there, real weather, not that boring summer... And you'll find horses everywhere!

Great to see this got through. Wonderful light.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Vic. I wondered if it would go through. On a different site it got some negative comments on sharpness, some have to see every pixel in a glare of usm..
It is the smoothness of the image that does it for me, I wondered if others would feel the same. And the composition might be a little odd too, also a thing I like..
Vic Chapman  It looks good in all those points you mention for just those reasons. As regards sharpness, composition etc: Only if it doesn't look right is it necessary to decide what is wrong. If it looks right it usually is - and this does look good. The more I look at it the more I like the comp. Kudos to you.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks again Vic. Very nice that others appreciate my work!
Dragan Jovancevic  whoever commented on sharpness couldn't see the forrest for the trees :-) . it is wonderful, i love coming back to this one
Lars Grepstad  Thanks again Dragan, and thanks for adding it to favorites

Excellent, congrats. !!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Dare. I must have 500 shots of horses now, and I don't think I have a single shot of them from before..

Beautiful horses Lars, in the winter time the horses gather this fluffy hair. It's quite funny. http://www.hedweb.com/animimag/icelandic-horse.jpg
And did you have a nice time in Iceland?
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Hjálmar. They seemed to be in some way built for the climate.. I'll have a look at the link as soon as I have time.
We had a fantastic time, and I think I can say we had all kinds of weather.. My wife liked it too, and she don't usually like cold weather. From the Philippines it is quite a difference.
We drove about 1400km, and I think the frame rate of the trip was around 1 shot per km.. I'm impressed, and we already talk about going back.
Hjálmar G  Haha thats nice anc crazy. You and your wife are totally welcome back to Iceland.

I liked this at screening, especially the colors and the background! Well made :-)
/Wulff
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Wulff! What I like is the "softness", which was actually called unsharp on a different site..
Dragan Jovancevic 4 years ago
and they dont mind the economic crisis ;-) i am glad this one got published, i can feel the breeze coming from the screen. p.s. above the black horse's back is a spot that looks cloned ( just in case you want to make a larger print, it does not bother me)
Lars Grepstad  No, they don't care! And it seemed the people didn't care either..
It is one of the nicest places I have ever been. Beautiful nature, and very friendly and service minded people. Not my last time there. Have to look at that spot, I actually just printed it. Strange.. Thanks for comment!

Great image! This one does not seem to have anything to do with the ocean.
Lars Grepstad  Thank you David. Oh, yes, they are good swimmers! :)
Trying to stay on land in between, have to get some change..
One of my ideas when going to Iceland was actually to check out the scuba diving, lots of whales up there.. But it seems the visibility is not that impressing, at least not close to shore
