HiPiotr Potepa

Very nice picture! Love it! Do you mind sharing what program you used to get your pictures put together?
Piotr Potepa  Hi Brian
You can use photoshop or software call "startrails". Second option is very easy and fast.
Brian Henningsen  Ok.. Thank you very much!

Hi,
Love the shot. What's the point of making 20 pics of 3min vs. making 1pic of 1h, thouhg ? Noise ? Preview ? HDR for the trees ?
thx

AH HA! A good use for the D300's built in intervolmeter!

Piotr Pot?pa  Unfortunately, it does not enable bulb time and intervolmeter together.
Richard Ford  So what is the longest that it will do? 30 seconds? I just got my D300 and was going to revisit this whole star business when I go to the gobi desert next month..... hmmm..... maybe I need to get the external trigger then.... :-(

Piotr Potepa  Yes, it's only 30 secunds. I use external trigger and shot every expusure manual but MC-36 is on the way :)
Richard Ford  Hmmm.. I think I will get one too!

Piotr Pot?pa  Thanks. Of course it's not a secret :) It was 20 x 3 minutes.

Amazing! Vertical composition works really well here.
Did you use special astronomic equipment or just a tripod and a lot of patience?
Piotr Pot?pa  Just tripod and of course little bit of patience :)
