Hi everybody.I just wanted to thank you all for so kind comments on this little poor guy. I try to take macroshots with a story, not just a shot of the species. It is difficult and thus I don't get that many macro's that I'm pleased with during the year.
I'm very happy to be this weeks photographer here on 1x,it really boosted my confidence :) Thank you all!!!

John Colbensen  I have both D80 and D200 but I use the D80 about 70 % of the time.I love that camera. here I used a Sigma EX 105 mm 2.8..a superb lens. And the best part is that it's not so expensive :)

The image certainly has a strong impact. It is very beautiful. However, a rain drop is roughly the same size as an ant. These droplets are from a plant spray or something that produces a fine mist right?
John Colbensen  Let me just start by saying that raindrops come in various sizes. That is a fact. And if you know how big this ant is I guess you know the species. This ant is about 2 centimeters long. And I guess you know that different antspecies varies in size as well. So I'm sorry to say that you're wrong. But thank you for your comment :)

It's a very nice picture but I cannot understand how the rain can be real. A curtain of drops so small, so vertical and regular in a macro environment ?!
John Colbensen  Well, what can I say.if you want to tell me I'm not telling the truth, that's entirely up to tyou.I was there and took this picture.I know its real. It's a reason why I call it Summer Rain, the drops were pretty small and there was wind whatsoever. It's sad you think I'm not honest but I can't do anything about that.
Alessandro Zocchi  Well, I did not say you are not honest. The rain in your picture looks very unrealistic to me and seeing how good you are in creative editing I figured it was a nice digital creation as well. I can even see a similar rain effect in other pictures of yours that are clearly fantasy creations.
Raindrops can range in size from 0.2 mm in diameter, to around 6 mm. If the ant is about 2 cm long the drops look like being well below 0.1 mm (that is about the ant's eye diameter). All this is just for me to understand...the picture is very nice anyway. Thanks.
John Colbensen  Hi Alessandro.Firstly I want to say I'm sorry about my tone in my last answer. I was pretty harsh and That's not like me. And yes,I have created rain-effects in many of my Ce's but those were done with a Plug-in called Alien Skin 5,textures. i haven't used any plug-ins here and after I read your answer I looked up raindrops on the internet.I agree with you now,but still I maintain the fact that it's for real. :)
Alessandro Zocchi  Many thanks indeed.

Poor guy...and excellent shot..i hate the rain :) well, most of the time anyway..not bad for a guy living in Bergen huh..? ;)
all the best John --willy--
John Colbensen  I had a saying for myself some years ago:" water isn't dangerous before it's in your lungs " .I enjoyed rain then. With all this new camera equipment (based on electricity) I'm not so fond of rain anymore, but living in Aalesund I'm pretty close to your standards regarding rainy days ;-) Thank you Willy

a little lack of sharpness for me but still amazing ! congrats ;)
John Colbensen  You know,I agree with you there and wasn't 100 % sure if I should post it.But I think that the pic has so much more about it that the sharpness came second here.I shot several pics of this ant but this one was the only one with the antennas like this..I felt sorry for the old chap ... thanks for your comment :-)
