great shot! in a way i agree w j weaver that the image sneaks up on you in stages, though to me, what sneaks up is not scary, but rather intriguing - the kid actually steers the car, too - just brilliant.

Ok. As common place as dark and moody shots are around here, it takes a lot to stand out. This has it. The more I looked the more I found. The birds jumped out at me right away, but the little kid at the wheel snuck up and scared the bejesus outta me. After that the baby's footprints in the dust just increased the creepy factor. Bravo!

(Just read below that those are "animal tracks". Looks like a raccoon now that I look closer. But they are still baby footprints to me!)

Andrew Stewart I really like th placement of the boy in this one. To me it adds tension by drawing my eye to him, but by being in such a position (and slightly darker) I am then released to move around other aspects of the shot, before coming back to him. That being said, and it is not a suggestion, but I was wondering whether you have considered cropping a small amount off the dark left hand side

I needed 6,345 seconds to undrestand what it is! This is dark, very dark and ominous...but safely isolated...love the footprint on the engine hood.

Such a beautiful image! You look at the shapes, they drive your eye to the birds and so you follow them, once you feel lost in the mist you start looking around: suddenly, as if by magic, a boy in a remote corner appears and a new world made of memories and dreams opens up to you. Amazing!

I really appreciate you taking the time to really look. I've sturggled for months about the compostion is this shot. I wanted the viewer to see left half first and then move to the boy- as you said. But, I still feel like the boy (Bleu) is a little to cramped. So, I'm happy you think it works.

Angela Bacon-Kidwell Yes, that is a footprint but from some animal- maybe a fox or possum. Yes, that is Bleu- always helping me search for birds. :)
