The pattern on the wall is actually the wall itself. It may look like graffiti but it´s a big model over the Gothenburg canal/port. The black plywood stands out from the green and there are lights behind it, making it glow at night.

The very interesting photograph.
The difference of the age in this photograph.
The background of the wall depicted the modern world. The old man sank in the age whereas the young man was more seen energetic and dominant, was reinforced with the element of graffiti that was seen in the wall gave the impression that meant so much for your photograph. The salute
Marcus Björkman   Thank you very much for giving me your thoughts Ilias!

what a superb composition. I wonder how long you had to wait for it to unveil in front of your lens... Edited: i've got the answer in one of your replies. Kudos to you for helping a little the composition by directing the skater...
Marcus Bjorkman  Thank you very much Tristan! I had that wall in my head for some time, as well as ideas for it. This day I had been out for lunch and I had the camera with me. I was quite late back to work when I saw the skaters in front of the wall, but I´m very glad that I went for it anyway :)

Well seen, great street capture and a story behind it!
Marcus Bjorkman  This is part set up, part luck, part seeing. I asked the skater (who did a lot of tricks when he first saw me) to just push for speed in front of the black part of the wall where he is. I had that picture in my head for a long time and here i saw my chance to get it. The old man had been standing still a few meters away, but started to walk towards the kid when he came rolling. And so they met. I was quite excited about it then and still is :) I got what i was after and a bouns to add. Thank you very much Daria, for your very nice comment of my personal favourite!

really like it. Generations meet. Im stock with the feeling, "what will happend when the pass each other..."
Great shot
Marcus Bjorkman  Yes, is the old man going to be overrun by this kid? Who knows... hmm I do. The man was a bit confused actually and stopped for a while, looking in every direction, seemingly not understanding what just happend. Thanks for your nice comment Helle!

very strong image & a nice counter point with the two people a generation apart. one probably hates the graffiti the other (probably) makes his own...
Marcus Bjorkman  I guess you´re right about the graffiti, if not the old mans bags are filled with spray cans and markers?? Thanks a lot gerard!
Remo Rufer 4 years ago
great, the graffiti looks awesome!
Marcus Bjorkman  Thanks Remo! The wall is cool and located about 100 meters from work, so i will shoot there again for sure.
