this evokes some painful but very real memories. i worked alongside a japanese guy who in fact reacted to the pressure of his work & his divided loyalties & took his life by hanging. the reality is real & this analogy is a powerful & original statement. being nit picky yes the title was not necessary the image speaks for itself!

A clever idea, perfectly executed!
Jesper Hedegaard Grønlykke  Thanks, I appreciated your comment. Glad you liked it because I was a bit unsure of the composition.

really loved this in screening. So well thought out, so well composed, yet it remains a very 'simple' image.
Jesper Hedegaard Grønlykke  Thanks, I appreciated your comment and thank you for voting me in on 1x.

A very clever symbolic image, like it a lot!
Jesper Hedegaard Grønlykke  Thanks, I appreciated your comment. Yes it's symbolic, but how you interpreter it is up to you...

Welcome to OE, Jesper :)
I like the idea and how you brought it to life.. lots of possibilities for interpretation. Nice work :)

Failure's hard, but success is far more dangerous.
If you're successful at the wrong thing, the mix of praise and money and opportunity can lock you in forever...

(It was written on the side of my Starbucks cup today and SO fits this image)
Jesper Hedegaard Grønlykke  Hi Brent, Yes.. it sure fits to this image. Thanks for your comment.

Good concept and I think it all works together very well.

I like the image, but the title bothers me.
To me the image meant something very different and personally moving before reading the title. It was about modern life in the office work-force.
After reading the title I feel very disconnected from the photo.

I would prefer a title more open to interpretation.
Jesper Hedegaard Grønlykke  Thanks for your comment. What would you name the photo ?
Brent Mooers  What would I name it? My interpretation would lead to a title involving a painful drop from the top of the corporate ladder...
But then that would be too specific to - as it is my interpretation.

Really dig this image. If I could only find one flaw it would be 12 twists instead of 13. It's the basis for the whole 'unlucky 13' thing. 13 loops in a hangman's noose.
Jesper Hedegaard Grønlykke  Thanks for your comment, I didn't know that about the twists...
Dave Nitsche  Yeah, I've used a noose or two in a shot or two and someone actually told me that once. Since then I always include 13 loops...

I'd call it "Conformity". :-)

Really great image none the less.
Brent Mooers  Conformity - that's exactly the sort of title I had in mind but couldn't articulate. Thanks Dave!
Your work always has great titles to go along with the outstanding imagery.

Jesper, have a look at Dave's work if you haven't alreary - he's one of the top artists on 1x in my humble opinion.
Jesper Hedegaard Grønlykke  I sure have seen his pictures - they are SO beautiful, and has some really clever titles...

Glad to see this made it. When looking at this during screening I commented that a clean shaven face might mesh better with the suit. But perhaps that also sells the "Man on the way out" motif. Congrats!
Jesper Hedegaard Grønlykke  Thanks, this is my first photo on 1x.com but hope it's not my last. I think that the unshaven look was better, it looks more like a man giving up on life. Thanks for your comment.
