I may be a year late, Thomas, but it was an instant feeling of pure pleasure when I saw this beautifully captured photo on the front page.
Your earlier comment about her left arm is interesting. For me it's as simple as a smile showing pleasure. I know that arm is picking more flowers but its position leads me towards the beautifully lit, innocent, concentration a child so often shows. The picked bunch is clutched with skill and it brought back such happy memories of my sisters doing the same in my childhood. The whole shot feels so balanced...congratulations :)

Hello Thomas,

With your picture i have a special connection and your picture reminds me on some very important. Not only that i should spend more time with my daughter more that it is very long time ago that i felt like a child and get lost in a field and joying the summer!

Breathtaking beautiful - no color is missing in this black and white image.

Thomas Ljungberg Interesting comment Ivar. I have never liked this one in color, something with the colors distracting attention from what the back light does in the image. I do have a version with very desaturated pale colors, almost b/w that I like very much.

It comes very close to the intention I had with a project I did when taking this and some other childhood images here on 1x. Makes me so happy that the thoughts behind theme come through. Thomas Ljungberg A revisit, I'm honored Angela. Yes, this is a favorite of mine. It will be a part of an exhibition in January were the work from a photography class will be presented. But it will be in color! So I will do some printing, matting and framing over the holidays...

very nicely handled sharp in all the right places & yes has that ethereal feel of barmy summer days that sadly we saw only too few of here this year. did you do any post processing to add the blur? or was this all in camera?

Thomas Ljungberg Thank you very much for your comment, so nice to hear in someone else's wording what I tried to express.
There is some postprocessing done to enhance the "romantic" feeling in the image. I have added some faint softening to the edges but the blur of the background is from the camera/lens. Other than that it is curve adjustments and some vignetting, b/w conversion and a duotone.

Thomas Ljungberg Wow, I feel honored by your comment. I think I am my worst critic. This is an image that has passed me by but I finished it yesterday for a photo course I am taking. After completing it I was rather pleased with it but decided it was not good enough for OE. After a while I decided to submit it anyway, and I guess I was completely wrong. I'm overwhelmed by the feedback I received today.
