An other excellent view with greatly atmosphere!

Have you to do with offshore exploration ?

Best regards Theo
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for your comment Theo!
I'm not in exploration, but in production. Working at a production ship out there.

This one I still want to improve a little. Needs a touch adjustment on contrast.

Wow, I could I miss this one, it is fantastic. Really great and a perfect composition. Well done.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for the comment Ivan! Working hard on these shots when I get the chance. But need the weather to be right, the light to be right, then a chance to take off a few minutes from my main job. Sometimes it works.

A strong shot with impact. It looks like much of the ship is under water.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot measekite! They had a busy day onboard I think.. Busy holding on, don't think they get much work done on a day like this.

How did I miss it? Wonderful!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Paolo!
There are lots of shots passing here, it's hard not to overlook any. Me, I have too little time to work on my own shots, and too little time to look at others. Always hoping it will change, and it does, to the worse..

Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for the comment Rouge!
Man, you should be working on a book with these pictures, Lars, This is another great one, I especially like, that you get the story with the oil rig in the background, the lightrays and the rough sea. More of this cool stuff. Keep clicking ;o) Cheers, Sass
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Thomas!
A book might be an idea, but I don't have that many of these shots yet. That is, I have hundreds, but not the variation needed. But, thanks for the idea, there might be a market for it.

I have lots of platform shots, but most are shot with compositions that probably would not work. Too commercial.
Looking forward to the winter storms. But I don't get that many opportunities. I have a job I have to do, and in addition I can't just run out with a camera when I want. Hazardous area in the oil industries require gas measurements, and sometimes permits. Could bring my little Leica, but would be too limited on lenses.
Thomas Sass Pedersen  It was just a thought, could be fun to see this world, which for many of us, is a very tough way of living, descriped in pictures. Words has probably been written already but I don't know if there are any books with photos.
Your little Leica is often a camera which goes unattended in situations compared to a large DSLR with grip and long lenses. A Canon G10 might also be a solution ;o)
Lars Grepstad  Canon G10, or any digital, don't solve it. It is the explosion hazard we have to think about. These electronic wonders we are walking around with can generate sparks, and are generally not allowed (I know they will not do, if in ok condition, but regulations..) My Leica M6 is completely manual except for metering. It's just that I don't want to use my M6 that way, it is in a condition to be a collectors item. The only one of my cameras I'm careful with.
It is not a problem for me to get permits, the problem is it takes time..
Thomas Sass Pedersen  I haden't thought that long, but I see the problem. Perhaps you should get my old Nikon F2, its been beat up, works like your Leica, manual and the only thing that needs power is the metering-system. Reminds me, I gotta get that metering fixed by the way.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for the offer. That's one of my favorite cameras. But, at that time I was a Canonist.. I still have one of my old F1n's. As manual as the F2, but I have no long lenses left.
I think I stick to the D300 and gas metering. 6 frames a second helps too, I can bracket on that kind of action!

Lars, there is drama in this image an uneasy impact that touches me deeply, fantastic shot. mal
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Mal! More will come after the winter I hope. Have had this one waiting for a few months. Didn't really get all out of it, but I've learned a bit from you guys now. And it got me inspired to start working on my own website too. Thanks again!

has me reaching for the brown paper bag! well just the thought. wild & dramatic. terrific.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Gerard! Yes it is wild out there sometimes. And watching this one, our Stand-by ship, makes me think.. It is small, by North sea standards, and getting thrown around like that. Still, this is the one that is supposed to support the monster ship we are working on if something goes wrong..
