I looked at this picture for a long time and all I can say is congratulations to an excellent capture. What kind of equipment have you used besides the D300, Ewa-Marine?
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for commenting Marcus. I use the new Sea&Sea housing, with a compact dome port, 12-24/4.0 Nikon and 2 strobes. The housing is a little beauty to work with. New this year, but my ports are well used on the F90X housing.
Had Aquatica (D100)for a few years in between, was never happy with that ugly big thing..

Beautiful and a bit scary!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for commenting Alberto! Have seen a few divers scared off wrecks, also this one once. Nothing scary to find here though, all survived.

WOWoWOW absolutely stunning!
saw a shipwreck similar to this in moorea in the south pacific
beautifully seen and captured
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for commenting Tonja! Would like to go to some of those Pacific locations one day. Closest I seem to get is Philippines, and there are coming new wrecks all the time..
tonja gabryshak  my daddy loved the philippines... tahitian islands are divine to behold underwater, snorkel or scuba in 14 days, the water was always clear, warm and spectacularly opulent

Well done Lars, this really is an image that interests me greatly, beautiful image. mal
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Mal! Great help!
This image was actually a re-shooting of an image I took around 1990. But the light conditions were horrible. Visibility was probably less than 10m. Used 12mm to get close to the propeller, and lighted it with 2 strobes.
Going back there again when the water clears up later in autumn. The deck of the ship is teeming with fish.
Mal Smart  I've been back to this many times over the last few months, one of my fav shots here at 1x. mal
Lars Grepstad  Thank you Mal! And thanks again for great feedback on the editing of this image, and some of my others. It has helped me a lot, on many other images as well. I was just too careful, worried to go too far. It has helped me to look at images in a more "artistic" way when I work on them.

I have had 3 days of shooting now, and still have this day with lots of kayak action. But today the light is hopeless for the shots the kayakers wants. So this day will be spent playing, longer exposures and whatever ideas comes up. I might post something..

funny lars i thought i spied this in bnw? well i am certain it looks so much more powerful in colour.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot. You're right, it was posted in b&w first. Tried all kinds of converting, but as soon as I touched the contrast the banding came out in the upper right side. That one I posted to get critique, I didn't think it had a chance. Also Silver effects pro was unable to make a straight conversion.

Wonderful image, happy to see it here, much better than the BW version! Excellent work, Lars, love it!
all the best
Codrin
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Codrin. I was struggling with that b&w version. Hard to convert and get the right contrast without banding.

Wauv - what a colourfull world! :-)
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Lars. It's colorful if you bring some strobes, without it is pretty green/grey/black..
