Maersk Giant in heavy weather
Wind was 60 knots+, visibility not so good. Tried to make that an advantage, making depth in the image.
Some problems choosing category, but found that it's nature making this image.

This image is available as fine art print on canvas. Limited to maximum 30 prints

That water almost gives me seasickness just looking at it. Beautiful image!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for the comment. Think I got it about right. And almost monochrome, without reducing any color. Lars

Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot! I like it myself, but had doubts about how it would be received here. Lars

Great texture and tones to the water and powerful depth in the photo!
Lars Grepstad  The wind and the sea did a lot for this. It's almost straight from camera, just slightly adjusted in curves. Thanks a lot for the nice comment. Lars

sea is somptuous, undulating, worrying, windy, dark..sensation of depth.. the composition takes part of this atmosphere.. 1000 bravos..
Lars Grepstad  Yes, the sea is all of that for me! I tried to live away from the sea for some years, but it just didn't work. I work at sea, living at a small island, scuba diving, boating, fishing etc. Just can't live without it. And a while ago I found that 90% (at least) of my pictures has something to do with the sea. Thanks a lot for the nice comment. Lars

Great image, awesome composition and atmosphere. Still have some doubts about the category. :)
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for a nice comment. Was struggling with the category, but found that it was nature that made it what it is. Lars

You sure got the depth right on this, Lars! :)
I love the way the oil platform is all hazy..
VEry good!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for a nice comment. The air is saturated with seawater in conditions like this, making it very hazy. Lars

Striking photo and very topical, given the uncertain future of oil... well done.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for a nice comment. Don't know if I believe that oil has a uncertain future though. Seems like the world can't get enough of it.. Lars

i was a dissenter on this though i failed at the time to pay much attention to how & from where you took this but coming back you should be applauded for getting such an image in such conditions. i feel seasick just looking at it! well done.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for a nice comment. The picture is taken from a production ship. And you're right, most of the time the visibility is just too low in those conditions. Think the VR lens saved me a bit on this. Tripod out of question, everything shaking. And the wind tried its best to get me off balance too. Lars
