I've never seen this pier so beautiful. Fair play for getting amongst the rocks. Nice one.

Mal Smart There was a big excavator digging up the concrete on top of the pier, not sure what they are up to. I got lucky with the sky that day. Cheers David. mal

Mal Smart many thanks Thomas but a lot of outdoor photography relies on luck, I have lost count of the times that I have been out with the camera and come back with nothing of any value. This location I have visited repeatedly to get this shot but never had the right light or other elements to make an ok image, I guess that we must just keep trying to get what we want. all the best. mal

I'll have to leave another comment about this one.
It actually scares the bejesus out of me. Really my only fear is of the ocean or rather what I cant see below. I picture myself up agaist the far left side and trapped and unable to get out of there. SCARY! Bad dreams tonight. :)

Great question about the Irish coast, I have seen a lot of images of locations that you might like but I don't know where those places are. I used to live in Ireland as a child and still have family there, let me know where you are going and I will ask a few questions. mal

This makes the ocean look like a tranquil pond sheltered by the harbor wall. I like the unexpected contrast. I'd normally expect the sea to be the forceful component.
