A bit late here.. hope it's better late then never ;)
I am a big fan of "foggy" water shots - very beautiful and pleasant capture, Tracy :)

Tracy Martin Late is always better than never. ;) The foggy/ghosty water shots fascinate me so much and yet they can be quite tricky to get, one needs just the right amount of waves and crashing. I took 200 shots of this same scene as the sun set and now have a much better idea of what works best for me to get this type of image(8 seconds, f11, iso 200).

Wow, my first thought was "look at those fairies flying over the water..."
Somehow there is a very nice flow in the picture leading from the bottom, up left and the right, out into the sea...

Tracy Martin Thank you Emily, I certainly am proud of this image. It's funny though because I started going through them when we got home and usually I go through several cuts in my photos to weed out the weaker ones even before I think about choosing one to process. However, when I got to this one I abandoned my normal routine and processed it right away and to this moment still have not gone through them all. I have been busy with web design leaving little time for photos... :(

Very serene. The amount of structure in the water is perfect. Enough to show it is alive and moving, but not enough to disrupt the calm atmosphere.

Tracy Martin Thank you Martin. As I wrote to Daria, it takes quite a bit of experimentation to get it just so, and that is usually the same time when the light is changing constantly... but it is so much fun. :)

You know I love this one Tracy, it has a Zen like quality, beautiful image. mal

Tracy Martin Mavericks is a world-renowned big wave break and it is only a 15 minute drive from where we live. Just left of center and right of the rocks near the horizon is where the wave breaks (it was recorded reaching almost 100ft) and I am sure that when a surfer is competing and hits that perfect wave it is a Zen moment for them. Bravo! It was funny after leaving my comment on your blog, to see this here right next to Mal's new addition. Sure is a different feel from when we were there together.

Tracy Martin Thanks Craig, this was high tide on a full moon and we are right next to the cliff on the narrow sandbar, in fact crows dislodged some stones right above where we were standing (scared the crap out of me). Where we walked was well under water.. :)

Very calm atmosphere ... love the nebula effect on the water made by the long exposure ... awesome image!

Tracy Martin I have been experimenting with exposure times and such to see what time of effects I get and it is so much fun to see the results especially knowing where I was shooting and the conditions. Thanks
