Who is she?!?!? I'd like to marry her immediately

The lighting is great and to have the hair like that there must have been a moderate amount of wind or is this photo staged and posed? I cannot tell. Having a subject that looks like that will always help a photo.

Tracy Martin  Yes, we shoot together and live under the same roof. :-)

oh wow, is this a "snapshot" or from a session? Really great light and pose here! (though I'd remove the blue-ish from the shirt but it's no big deal)

I'm looking to it for several minutes and I'm totaly astonished
what colors and light ! and sharpness....
Tracy Martin  Thank you Thomas, sometimes I look at it and wonder if I really took it. ;-)))

Now that i've seen mark's and laughed at his title, I have to say how wonderful yours is. I find it interesting how it's the same girl but her demeanor is different in both shots. I'd have to say I'm partial to the color, just because its more relatable to me, sorry mark :)
Tracy Martin  Hey Kelsey, Mark and I took a look at his images recently of this exchange and I was standing to the left of him and we have deduced that she saw me first and gave me this look and then saw Mark second. The time difference is literally only seconds. :)

Nice one, Tracy. I like the feel of the colour in this case (I guess, like so many here, in my mind I'm comparing this to Mark's shot). Another difference - yours is entered to "everyday", his' to "street". PS: Don't tell Mark, but I think "everyday" is a very good choice, since it's a model and all :))))
Mark Kitaoka  Grrrrrr...everyday indeed! ;-) Domestic discord going on over here due to Ms. Abresch! Grrrrrr!
Tracy Martin  It's only natural to compare, and when it is one of Marks images that it is being compared to there is a very high bar to pass. I actually didn't think that it would make it through screening for that reason alone. Thanks Ursula. :)))

So lovely, Tracy!
Colour gives it even more summer feel :)
I like it very much :)
Tracy Martin  To me, there was no question that I would do this in color because I loved the tone of her skin, as you say it has a summer feel to it. Thanks Daria. :)

Thanks F.

Nice "version" of this shot... I like the tight crop.

You really do need to find a way to slow Mark down so you get to post before him. I've heard you are a great cook. You need to prepare him a great meal coming home so you get to upload your images while he sleeps afterwords...

Wow, even the hair blows the same way. It can't be many ms between the shots... ;-)

/Thomas
Mark Kitaoka  Yeah Thomas, you're correct Tracy is rumored to be a great cook. But since this shot was taken on the weekend when it is my responsibility to cook, your suggestion would not apply! I was cooking on this day, so perhaps instead of lounging around on the couch eating bon bons, Ms. Martin should have been hurriedly processing her great imagery.

And quit siding with her in hopes of getting one of her exquisite meals!
Thomas Ljungberg  Of course I'm siding with her, who would not? The way I see it I will get free bording from you (older general promise to any OE member dropping by) and a great meal from T. I only need to get my b**t to California...
/Thomas
Mark Kitaoka  Yeah yeah yeah.... Well tonight I'm NOT cooking, but instead taking her to a great Chinese spot in SF where I know the owner - House of Nanking, mmmmmm! Maybe I'll luck out and get a shot or two processed before she gets out of the car!
Tracy Martin  So when we get home and I go and take the time to cook while he processes ALL his images before me.... that doesn't sound fair at all, are you in cahoots with him? ;-)))

Mark is very definite when going over his images about what he likes and doesn't, I on the other hand take a much longer time going through them and unless an image knocks me on the head I am never quite sure if it works. Thanks Thomas.
Thomas Ljungberg  LOL!!! I new you would pick up on that tiny detail... Well, you'll have to think of something else that would put him to sleep... I think you'll come up with something... ;-)

Is it me or did you guys shoot with the same kind of measurements on your camera. Same kind Of DOF, etc. Well, what can I say, it is was the bestsolution for this shot anyways. Good thinking both of you then ;-)
cheers robin
Mark Kitaoka  Hey Robin. We do both shoot with the same lens, but Tracy's is very sentimental to me. My uncle who passed away this year had three lenses that he really never used which he gave to me. An EF 17-35 L f2.8, EF 28-70 L f2.8 and the lens Tracy uses an EF 70-200 L f2.8. So in a very special way, she is looking through my uncle's 'eye' when she shoots. A man cannot ask for much more, to have his partner using an heirloom from a very important man in my life.

And as you can see from this and many of her other shots, she is putting my uncle's lens to exquisite use.
Tracy Martin  Thanks Robin, it is good to see you back around. ;) We both were using the 70-200mm and probably around the same DOF, that is our workhorse lens when street shooting. :)

Great light and DOF, very good.
Tracy Martin  Many Thanks Paolo.

Now i understand what Mark wrote to me. He He, you shoot together:-)) Nicly done. I like both versions!

Greetings Robert
Tracy Martin  Thanks Robert, we do indeed shoot together almost all the time.

oh I know someone who would love to shoot with that gorgeous lady ;)
the light is really spot on tracy! congrats :)
Tracy Martin  That wouldn't happen to be a mutual friend now would it ;) I have never used a reflector but I knew that it makes a difference I just didn't realize how much of a difference it can make in a shot. Now I wish I could go street shooting with one.
Calisto  oh I'm sure we are thinking about the same person tracy ;)

haha..I would love to see a making-of "tracy running with reflector behind people passing by" and then convince me that it still is a street *lol* ;))

Mmmm, wasn't it taken with a 1D III ??? The BW, cropped differently, was called ICU2 ;)
Tracy Martin  Well it was the same lens with the exception that mine doesn't have IS, and I cheated on the crop because it was cropped the same way so I just moved what was behind her to in front of the ice cream. ;)

What the heck?!?
Didn´t I see this photo here before..?
Anyways..
Very nice light. Looks like an advert: "I don´t need men, I have Nestle ice cream" :)
Tracy Martin  The other one was Mark's and it was in b/w. ;-)

We both cashed in on someone elses photo shoot that was occurring during the San Francisco Haight-Ashbury Street Festival.
Ilja Hackman  :)
You sneaky devils.. :)
Tracy Martin  Yes we are very naughty. ;-)))
Mark Kitaoka  Ah, but as you can see, I got a VERY different look my way than Tracy's! hehehehe

Ilja Hackman  Oh yes.. I can see the difference in her smile :) You handsome devil you.. Pretty girls are wax in front of you :))
Mark Kitaoka  It was the chicken suit I was wearing that day!

Hehe! Very good, Tracy! :) You and Mark must have been shooting together. Wonderful colour!

:)
Tracy Martin  That is almost always the case. So then it becomes a race to see who gets their images posted for screening first and Mark ALWAYS wins that race, so I have to wait my turn which can be detrimental when one is following in his very large photographic footsteps. :)
