Haha If I were going to compare them (Tracy's and yours) I'd look at the titles ! You think she's flirting with you haha. Great shot.
Mark Kitaoka  Well, well well...
If it isn't my student from the summer. Shouldn't you be off shooting with your graduation present rather than making smart a$$ comments here my dear? You have the skills and now the camera to have something posted here, so get to it young lady. And YES, she was flirting with me!

What a priceless look. The stories below add another twist, but still don't take away from from the moment.
Mark Kitaoka  Thanks Andrew, her look is indeed priceless and even more so based on the circumstances.

Mark, Great shot! hmmm, but I see you cheated on this one a bit :)
Mark Kitaoka  Hey Man! Of the hundreds, perhaps thousands of street shots I take, it's about damn time I get a break! Thanks Ross and BTW, I will be in your neck of the woods this summer.

Mark Kitaoka  Hey thanks Claudio!

Set up or not it is a great image. Your attention is drawn to the lady even when you look at the background, you are drawn back to the lady.
Mark Kitaoka  Thanks Ian, it was a fun situation for me. Thanks too for explaining the elements you like and how your eye moves around the image.

Very well captured Mark.

Greetings Robert
Mark Kitaoka  Thanks Robert. It's hard for me to classify this as a street shot or posed. Since I was not the one who arranged for the shoot and just happened on this scene, is this a street shot or a portrait? It's not a serious thing, just a funny thought.
Robert  This is a street schoot! A very good one. You can classify it as spontanious street portrait. It is not easy to capture situation like this. Anyway you made a good one.

Greetings Robert
Mark Kitaoka  Hey Robert, my comment was a bit tongue in cheek, as I 'stole' the shot from the photographer's preparation. It's a little like days off from work. They're much sweeter when you're not 'suppose' to be taking a day off!
Robert  Its no problem:-)) I do this many times:-)))) The picture is good and this is what counts.

Greetings Robert

I hope you went over and chatted her up? :) What a great expression. Well done.
Mark Kitaoka  I spoke to her for a bit. Trust me, it was much better to look...
Tracy Martin  It's a good thing I didn't see that, then again I was checking out the guys that were checking her out. ;)
Mark Kitaoka  See, everyone has their own 'eye candy.'
Scott Crouse  hahaha :) At least you tried. They can't all be perfect!

You caught nice light.
Mark Kitaoka  Thanks Peter, the facial light was from a reflector the photographer was using.

Hehe! this is a fun shot, Mark. Her expression does look natural and easy...excellent timing on this beauty! :))))
Mark Kitaoka  Thanks Em and it is a fun shot. And I didn't even have to pay the model or all of her assistants! ;-)
Emily Bem  LOL! I saw that. Lucky you :)

Lovely shot, her face-expression is wonderful!
Mark Kitaoka  Hi Daria and thanks. The 'official' photographer was shooting her from the front and down low having the gal 'lick' the cone in a provocative way. As you can see, the sun was behind her with the reflector in front. Her expression, although sensual during her shoot seemed forced. I was happy to get this one which seemed more natural.

beautiful capture. Love her expression
F
Mark Kitaoka  Thanks Fulvio, her expression was one of 'You too?'
Fulvio Pellegrini  Right:-))
F.
oh! She was loving this. Great shot!
Mark Kitaoka  Angela, she was indeed 'loving this' as you can read in my full response to Martin.

Her expression is priceless. This must either require a lot of practice on her part or absolutely perfect timing your yours, or both. Great work!
Mark Kitaoka  Martin, there is a story behind this shot. I was shooting the Haight Street Fair yesterday when I found there were several models being shot in the street for various things. A photographer and her crew were shooting this young lady and some of the assistants had reflectors to direct the light on her face. So I thought, 'why not' go and shoot her without them knowing as well. This young lady saw me and offered me this look as I took my own shot.
Martin Gremm  Thank you for the explanation! It is always interesting and instructive to find out the genesis of a photo.

No wonder the ice cream is melting. lovely light and exposure
Mark Kitaoka  Yeah, you're right Koen. And I got a shot of two guys hanging out of their apartment window looking too. Their expressions are priceless!
Thomas Ljungberg 4 years ago
Great shot, I suspected this was yours...
I'm curious... What gives that wonderful reflected light from below? I was not certain this was a "pure" streetshot at first when I say it in screening, it is not often one is blessed with this kind of lightconditions, beautiful model and great pose. All at once!
Nice job Mark. Again!
/Thomas
Mark Kitaoka  Thomas you are indeed very astute in your observation about the lighting. You can read the whole story in my response to Martin above. Thanks Thomas.
Thomas Ljungberg  ;-) So my thoughts was spot on then! So this is a authentic fake street portrait...
Very cool image anyway. Well seen and executed! I guess you had better charm than the payed photographer having her give you this look.

/Thomas
Mark Kitaoka  Yup, you were right about the scene. Thanks Thomas!
Thomas Ljungberg  BTW, of topic. Have you switched place with Vernon in the Artist listing..? ;-)
/Thomas
Mark Kitaoka  I just think VT wanted to not have his smoke going into my frame!
