Simple, elegant, classy, and infinitely creative. A single light, some chalk, and a white background. You are too good for words. :-)
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Jimmy!
Great colors and composition! I imagine this picture on a 70x50cm print!
Nice work!

Ciao

Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Raffaele. I hadn't thought of this as a big print, but it might work. Thanks for the idea!

You know that I like minimalist, simple picture.. like here.. bravo, and it's interesting to see the simple one shadow, with many different colored chalks
Ursula I Abresch  Merci, flo, thank you! You know that I like to work on those concepts too, they speak a good sounding language.

Splendid idea! Well managed, maybe too much white?
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Bror. How do you mean, "too much white"? Too bright, or too much of it?
Bror Johansson  I mean too much of it. If you crop from top until you get as much white as in the bottom the picture will get more symmetric.
Ursula I Abresch  Ahh, thank you. I understand now. But, I like it asymmetrical - I was working at getting it that way, because, IMO, symmetry in this case would take away from the impact. But I might try with a different look. Thanks again, Bror, your input is much appreciated.

I have yet to see an artwork where every element of art (line, shape, form, color, value (lightness and darkness), texture, and space) is portrayed in a manner as concise, balanced, and thought-provoking, separated as clearly and connected as strongly. It is also beautiful :).
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you very much, Fedor, for you nice words. :)

I like how color and three dimensions turns into black and white and two dimensions... almost like Socrates' allegory of the cave (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_cave) Quite clever, was that your intention? =)
Ursula I Abresch  Yes, very much. I mean, not the Socrates allegory, I didn't know about that (thank you for the link, I'm going to study it). But the play between colour and black and white as you have brightness and shadow, and the play of shapes, how shadow shapes change so much and look so totally different than the reality of the chalk pieces. Ralf, thank you for looking and commenting :)

Oh, I had an inkling that this was your Ursula, it reminded me of the straws and of course I loved those... :)

Very nice.
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Tracy! I have to fix the shadow at the end a bit though - there was some residual yellow on the Bristol board (I think because it's not entirely smooth), and I cloned it away, and messed up the shadow in the process.
David Haviland  I like this, I was the one that made the comment in screening about the end of the shadow in case you are wondering.
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you! I appreciated it very much, I hadn't noticed it (that the shadow was off). I have sent in a corrected version.

PS - I think it's been replaced already :)
