I like the way she sits, the way she smiles, closes her eyes ...
The light, the tones ...
Beautiful!

(I just read your own comment under. - impressive and touching!)
Manuel Garcia Quintana  thanks, Anna, a photo without heart is nothing.
Mark Kitaoka  Your comment to Anna IS what it's all about for me. Genuine emotion captured in a way that conveys that moment to the viewer.

I've seen it all and I know who I am.....love her expression...
Manuel Garcia Quintana  Grazie, Calisto.
This photo has a small history. A history that speaks of the fact to take photos, to make portraits, to try to capture a small part of the spirit of a person.
In 2002 I began to work in a project for a exhibition. Portraits of women. The portrait is difficult if our pretensions are to show the person, not only its physical appearance.
I did not know Aurora. A stranger in front of my camera. The beginning of the session was difficult. A nervous woman who did not know how to be placed in front of the camera.
She had asked to realise the session in her old familiar house, the house of her childhood. We leave all the windows closed and the unique illumination was the light that entered by the open door. I hate to make photos with flash. And I never use reflectors. The natural light is my unique source of illumination. The session was a disaster. Aurora was not able to forget that a camera followed each of its gestures constantly.
Four 120 rolls off and I knew that I had not obtained anything. And the light was more and more tenuous.
In a while I asked to him to Aurora that spoke to me of its childhood in that house. She began to speak of her brothers, their mother, her games. She spoke during two minutes and later it remained in silence.
She closed her eyes and a great smile was drawn in its face. Then, with the closed eyes, she said: "I believe that still I hear the voice of my mother". At that moment I had time to shoot my camera twice. I had my photo. A woman of return to its childhood, with an incredible inner happiness.
The original one is an impressive copy 50x50 cm in Ektalure Paper of Kodak and Selenium toner.
This is a photo that I love especially and was the best one of my exhibition "Some women".
Mark Kitaoka  Manuel, this story adds so much to this piece. And it's comforting to me to know that what I observed in this piece is the state in which you were eventually able to place her. Again, a wonderful image showing the interaction between the subject, the photographer and the viewer.
Manuel Garcia Quintana  Thanks....something is evident: you know to watch (to read) within a photo.

I see it in screening and was impressed the same like now while watching it. For me it seems she is just finishing an important task very successful and need now a smoke to relaxe. She is so happy! Very fine mood!

Greetings Robert
Manuel Garcia Quintana  Thanks, Robert. Now you can read a little more over this work.
Robert  WOW! What an experience! Great! This is what we all try to find.

Greetings Robert
