Absolutely most impressive shot! Such a beautiful creature, that must have been a pulse-pounding moment!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for the comment Jim!
Yes, absolutely pulse pounding! That one I circled with for 15 mins, I was lucky to have the inner circle.. Then the cramps forced me to surface.

Superb of silence and beauty.. how one can says : too dark ??.. sometimes, no, often.. I don't understand..
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for a nice comment Flo. I was lucky to be in the right place, and at the right time. Have had a few dives with Whalesharks, carrying video. This was my first time lucky meeting them with a still camera in hand. I definitely prefer still camera! To freeze that moment..

It has been commented that the image is too dark. Could not really answer to that, had only my laptop and my work monitor. I'm now back at my calibrated monitor. I think it looks right..

It's beautifull and very impressive. Bravo.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for nice comment.

I voted for it. Nice shot! I think it's only natural to be dark because the whale shark is camouflaged, dark on top and light below, to blend in with surroundings. So in a shot like this from above downwards, there will be little contrast between the shark and the surrounding deep blue. Best, Marcus
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for a positive comment. And it counts more, coming from one who knows the kind of photography. Going back to Philippines tomorrow. Hope to get back to Pintuyan with my new D300 set..
By the way, the housing was waitlisted when I ordered, from Singapore. One nice person there with an early order accepted to wait for next delivery. If you happen to know the one with a Sea&Sea D300 housing on order, give my regards! Lars
Marcus Lim  Hope you have fun with your new setup! Did you order from Andrew at Sea&Sea?
Lars Grepstad  Hi, yes, I ordered from Andrew.

This one took its time through screening. On a different website it went straight for the top. "Too dark" was indicated by screeners. I'm working on a calibrated monitor, I want it on the dark side, it's very often dark down there. Too dark?
