Stunning picture.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for the comment! There are far between these encounters. Just to see them is great, to get a photo opportunity is fantastic.

Great captured.
Have you sent it to www.whaleshark.org for their id of whale sharks?

I will meet with David D and others on the 13th - 15th of June at Celebrate The Sea in Manila.

Best regards

Mikael

Wow, that's a really cool shot! Would love to see one of those someday!
I like the combination of the dark body of the whale shark and the blue hues of the water. Good work!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for a nice comment. There is probably more to pull out of this exposure, but never get the time to process

Beautiful light. Must have been a magical experience.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for the comment! We actually had the Whale Sharks around us for a long time. We found them around 9.30am, and had them around until we had to leave..at around 4.30pm
My real limitation that day was the D100, a very slow camera when working in RAW. Have dumped it now, in favor of a D300.

Nice shot. Where was this? Visibility looks good..
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for comment! It was Southern Leyte, Philippines. In front of Pintuyan village, southern side of Panaon Island. Dived with Peter's www.whaleofadive.com It's getting late in the season now, and this year they haven't seen so many. Going to Philippines next week. And planning to charter a boat to go there on my own if there are reports on sharks. I'm based in Surigao City when I'm there, Pintuyan is less than 2 hours away.

magnifique Wharle Shark.. the blue color is superb
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for the comment! Picture is taken a bit towards the light. That makes it a little greenish blue. I like it too, but the next one will be clean dark blue..
