Ah, well now. This appears to be part of a series. The woman is making a darker and more dangerous return from the journey began in "Wishing to Fly." She has bartered or exchanged the small caged bird she was carrying for some inanimate thing that, although it appears to hold some value, also appears to be more of a burden. The ground is rougher now, the feathers and symbols covered with brush, making progress more difficult than before. A shriveled wicker man is waiting in the lower right to trip her if he can.

This is moving and beautiful, like your other, similar compositions. I love the emotive qualities in your work.

Angela Bacon-Kidwell Carola,Thank you for comment. I think these "storytelling" images work better in monotones- helps the viewer to focus on the story instead of the color. I do love color but for it is to much with these images. Thanks so much.
