i've delayed in commenting on this one Daria, I was unsure of the words to use. Consistently through your work, you provide the viewer with a tantalising insight into the inner thoughts and emotions that affect and guide you, you seem willing to embrace and face head on a vulnerability, further more display them for all to see.

Maybe, I could have said all that with "Cracking shot" lol

Daria, this is so beautiful! The photo illustrates the verse so emotionally and perfectly! It says it all -- even without the words, but the words just crystallize the mood and sentiment of the photo deeply!

I guess the most people here can relate to the pain you visualized.
And you do it in an outstanding way. Tender, quiet, in silence, if you know what I mean. And the message is even stronger because you use your self.
It is brave. It is a sad and beautiful image.

Daria,
Quite remarkable and beautiful. Some fashion models become photographers and do very well. I find i remarkable that you have yourself for a model and that you are such a good model, while being an excellent artist. Part of me thinks of you as very fortunate, and part of me wonders what you would do under less severe restrictions as you apply to yourself (or in which you find yourself).

Is the poem yours as well?

Lovely, and among my favorites.
Daria Endresen  Thank you so much, King, for all your kind words and compliments, that's very pleasant and encouraging to hear. I'm not sure if I'd make it just as good in front of someone else's camera, or if I'd manage to convey my feelings shooting not myself, but another model.. On the one hand it's very difficult to be both, but on the other - I know myself well, I know how to express what I want to say, and I feel quite comfortable, because again, it's just me around.. so all I need is a bit of patience.. Hope it makes some sense :)

About the poem - as I've replied to Ralf, it's not mine. They come from a russian song with the same name, and since I'm not the world's best translator, they might sound a bit clumsy.. I still like them, and for me they have a very strong connection with this image. I just hoped that they'd help others to read the message better.

I must confess the words are not mine, they come from a song with the same name "Without you".. Actually all my selfportraits are connected with songs, and I used to write a line or two to make the image message deeper/clearer, but here on OE I stopped doing it.. not sure why :) Maybe I should start doing it again.
