Angela: I'm not sure what you think you're missing in this shot, but whatever it is, I can't see it. This is hauntingly beautiful. Have admired your images quietly for a while, but just couldn't keep my mouth shut when I saw this one.
Keep those wheels turning.
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Thank you for the commment. Thank you for viewing my work. I appreciate it. I suppose this images feels a little to sweet for me and in the end chose another one from that shoot for the series. That shot is on my personal website. The wheels are turning and I'm working on a new series and will share when it is complete :) Thank you!

another intriguing shot from you! I have noticed that all my fave shots are with small apertures...do you like a large dof?
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Donna, Thanks for the comment. Many of my images need atomosphere to enhances the mood or set the mood so on those shots yes, large dof.
Donna  thanks for the reply. coming from another site where the focal plane is usually thin in my contacts images....this is an eye opener for me.
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Donna, where do you come from? lol- I mean what site?

Whoa....

This is VERY cool, Angela...so thoughtful and provokes a real curiosity about the story.

:)
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Emily, Thanks. This is one of those shots that I've been thinking about for a long time. And I'm really not that happy with it. It needs more-I don't know but I'm glad you it provokes some though-that was the intent.

Merci.

moody is mentioned:-)
even without the feathers this would work well! I am not sure if they disturb the impression, or if they add tension...
otherwise, the composition is a strength here.
all the best!
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Thank you! you can read the story in my response to King. Thanks for the input on the feathers- really helps me. Thanks.

I want to laugh at the trail of feathers, but I'm not sure it that's appropriate. The child looking back over the mom's (you?) shoulder, with his delicate little hand posed just so is so poignant.

The pillows promise comfort, but the dark clouds are so foreboding. Will the journey be long and difficult? Will they be safe?

This is a beautiful and compelling photo that utilizes the Texas landscape so very well. And what the heck is that cart/dolly thing anyway? It almost looks like the mother's body is composed only of pillows and/or cart, with just the head of hair cropping out to resemble a mommy. Now I'm getting all weirded out.

I love it.
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  King, Hey it is pouring down here do you want to drive up now and put on a dress and pull a cart of pillows! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
lol! having fun.
King Douglas  I have been known to wear a dress in public and to otherwise humiliate myself just to get others to laugh at me. So, yes, I'll pull the cart. I'm a size 26.

There are tornados about tonight. Be careful.
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  I'm laughing so hard. I've had this idea for some time and to tell you the truth this is not how I intended the image to be. The child, my son was scared to death of a turkey that was in the middle of the road that refused to move during shooting. (I cloned him out, the turkey) So, I had to hold my son most of the time. (not what I planned)
When working on the image I began to feel nostaligic about this particular shot and uploaded it. I regret doing so becuase I'm working on another one that will be in creative edit and it really is more dramatic- plus you laughed at my feathers! lol. btw: that cart/dolly thing cost me $60 dollars and was a pain in the -- to put together in the rain on that road(it would not fit in my car) I asked my husband this morning what he thought of this image and he said all I see is $60 dollars down the drain. :)
Oh Well, I decided to just go with the flow when shooting with child and turkey.
I did ask them not to publish it but I was to late in my request.
I'm doing this again tonight- Hope the weather stays bad.
I bet you are really laughing now. :) me too.
