The Ghost of Bikaner Old Town
I was taking a picture of the street, when this man suddenly appeared from nowhere in my viewfinder.

So strong and excellent portrait.
Well, were you shocked? Talk about the subject coming to you! You moved fast with the shutter. Great job.
Tommy Strommen  hehe...well his hair was rather shocking. He actually stopped up stood there for a couple of seconds, think he wanted to be in the picture.

Thanks Angela

Looking for work as a cinematographer? This would be an excellent addition to your portfolio. (I love cinematography)
Tommy Strommen  Glad to hear that King, as I'm very fond of cinematographic images. A reason some of my India pictures might have this feel is simply because my standard lens stopped working and I had to use my 50mm 1.8 for every shot..

Thank you

I wanted to portray a man within his living environment. Classic in style, yet natural in feel. I was hoping to show the environment as it struck me... Beautiful and colourful, yet a testimony of a poverty-stricken place. The man, his face being a reflection of that... It's a beautiful face, yet the face, and its eyes, show dispair, hopelessness and resignation at one's faith.

Now this is how you present your photo Tommy. You don't just say "yo guys, check out this dude who popped up in front of my lens !"

Think professional... lie your pants off, and make sure you use the word testimony lol ;-)

Excellent photo Tommy :-) Really glad to see these getting published, and deservingly.
Tommy Strommen  I think I'll just keep the description empty lol. But true, presentation is important and even in school they told us to lie our pants off. While many designers create visuals based on an "I like it like that" reason, later one has to sit down and think of how to make it seem like "logic" ;)

Thanks Koen
Koen Pieters  lol... I was joking. Always liked your no-nonsense approach, but just couldn't resist writing what I think many people would have made from it.

still recommende the use of the word testimony though :-)

Very nice shot! Great portrait, also think the colors in the background work quite well to the overall balance of the shot!
All the best
