Very theatrical shot. Lovely contrast of your clothing and the shack. Perfect timing.

Congratulations on a great picture. Top job. I think it is a fusion of two images?
Stephane Polteau  I hoped to get it in one frame, but the bulb on my d70s went on for 30mns... Did not know about it. Since I ran out of beer, I just paused with the flash and combined the shots. This 30mns max bulb setting pushed me back to film camera. Thank you Apurva!

This is sooooo awesome!! I did my first star trail exposure shots last night...and they came out pretty good...but did you have to stand there the entire time??? Would love to know how you incorporated yourself in this shot because I had this on my mind to try out...just didn't know if I had to stand still the whole time, LOL...brilliant image and a definate fave!
Stephane Polteau  Hello K.
You just sit around doing whatever you want (beer?) while the long exposure is recording the Earth spinning. Then you just go into position and flash (in different position if you want to be more than once). Simple...
kcranmer  Thank you! I couldn't imagine standing in one spot for so long, lol...I'll have to figure out how to do this with just my cable release remote, and on my own...thank you again, sooo appreciated! :)
This is really wonderful. Very creative.

Hey there Stephane, how's your arm doing? =)
Neat idea and well executed, a bit harshly edited for my taste...
Stephane Polteau  Guess the idea is good, and you can surely see things that can be improved: dressed in black does not work so well (the shadow made my arm see-through), digital camera not the ideal tool (rather using film camera for long exposure sharpness will be ideal), flash not so pleasing on the house (rather wait for full moon). Anyway, we all learn from our mistakes. Thank you Christopher!

Now that's an amazing and creative use of long exposure!
I always wondered what to do with the trails of the stars creatively.
Great idea, fantastic picture!
