Very nice again Daria. This one seems a combination of 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional pieces combined. To me it almost appears as though you are emerging from the page.

Daria,
Did you create a Photoshop (or other application) brush from a lock of your hair. I love the effect here--[no need to reply as I tend to write my comments before reading exchanges with others, so now I know the answer].

Did you inherit your exotic beauty from your mother or your grandmothers? I think at some point we have to confront the fact that you are beautiful, aside from the remarkable and unusual self-portraits you create. Is that okay with you?

I use as my model the actress--was it Ingrid Bergman?--who when offered a compliment by an older man, "You are so beautiful!" she replies, "Yes, isn't it lucky!"

Daria Endresen :))) I guess it's high time to reveal the secret of my descent - my mother is ukrainian (and that's where my name comes from as well).. not sure if it's exotic enough? ;)
And brushes - yes, everything's in Painter. I bet it's a gorgeous software for real painters, it's like a huge workshop with all the tools and materials needed.. I enjoy it a lot.

How did you do the painterly hair? Did you paint it and photograph the painting or paint it in your computer? Anyway, you've managed to combine this effect perfectly with the photo!

Daria Endresen It's all computer made, Ralf :) Painter gives you a huge variety of brushes to use, the trick is to choose the right one and use it properly :))

when you present us with so many gorgeous selfies Daria, one is bound to draw comparisons, this is yet again a wonderful image, It does not quite have the impact of "is it love", but its a cracker all the same. mal

I know what you mean, Mal. This shot is from the same photoshooting as the previous one, and as I've already mentioned I just fooled around with it in Painter, and actually wasn't going to post it.. but one of OE members encouraged me to do it, so here it is :)

Very beautiful! Yes... the picture and the model :)
Daria, IMHO you have driven the bridge between paintings and photographs to perfection! Absolutely love the subtle crossing between those two art forms, and especially this one here with it's gentle composition/tonality! Title's also amazing!
You might want to consider framing this in at least 50x70cm and later showing it to your children/grandchildren some day ("look I had this painted, when I was younger") ;))

Daria, I respond to the painterly effect given to the hair. It is the same look as I give some of my paintings that need detail. Love that effect because it feels very real to me.
