I really like this photo, the noise and textures add to the gritty feel of it. I myself am a ballet dancer and seeing images like this that don't just conform to pretty ballerinas in tutus is great, the real life of a dancer is much more painful and less romantic than one would expect.

Do you have a friend/child in the cast, Jennifer? I've been to too many recitals...my face muscles automatically freeze into a smile when I see shots like this. Your image inspired me to post one of my toe-shoe shots, but it is in screening and I don't know if it will be published.
