This is outstanding! It tells a great story with very minimalist elements and it is a very appealing study of geometry in its own right.

Wonderful light! This is really intriguing picture! I love the simplicity and the tones in this..
There´s so much in this pic even though there´s not much in it :)
Cool stuff, Ulf! :)
Smooth lines, graphic and contempary. Love the light that tryes to get out of the door. Less is moore.

Fantastic perspective, excellent contrasts...love the concept of it!

Simplicity, superb tones, nice dark ground, nice light around the door, perhaps still a bit greater without the dark triangle at the upper part of the door. Nevertheless a great one Ulf,

So delicate. I know you don't approve of manipulating images in post-processing, but tell me...did you adjust the door to get exactly the light you wanted? or did you just find it this way? Beautiful work, Ulf.

I haven't yet studied your OE portfolio, but I am looking forward to doing so. There is so much to see here (and so little time, of course).
K.
Ulf Börjesson  this is a straight shot at the museum of modern art in barcelona, nothing done except gentle and traditional dark room work.
King Douglas  So this is a scan from a print? and you didn't touch the door? Did you wait for someone to enter or exit and catch the door at just this position?

What type/size print did you make? I don't want to be a pest--I'm simply very interested in this beautiful image.
Ulf Börjesson  Nope, it's a digital file from a Canon 5D, but only modestly done in cs3. And, no, I didn't arrange for this, it was pure luck the door was open. Print? I have one at home at 100x70cm, and it looks okay :)
King Douglas  100cm x 70xm. I was wondering if a good image from a Canon 5D could be successfully enlarged to that size, and I'm sure you are a good critic.
Thanks.
King Douglas  Ah, I see. I was thrown off by your remark, "...nothing...except gentle and traditional dark room work." You mean work in some kind of image-processing software, not on a Durst enlarger on premium paper developed in chemicals. I'm an old darkroom guy and was getting ready to dedicate a sonnet to this image. Heck, this image is worthy of a sonnet anyway.
Ulf Börjesson  Well, I'm just referring to what I was doing two decades ago, and try to do the same today - in Photoshop. That's all.

Congratulations Ulf! Really great!
What makes this one special for me, are the minimalistic approach alongside with the wonderful contrast between the light that emerges from behind the door and the shadow it creates on our side.
All the best
