It sure seems to be tight match :)
I really like the BW treatment in this. You really can feel the excitement :)
Great caption, my friend! :)
Thomas Ljungberg  Thank you Ilja for your nice words, you have no idea how much I appreciate them this day...
I sometimes regret that I didn't stay arround to see the end of this game. It would have been interesting to see the follow up. Money exchanging hands? Debate among the audience regarding the moves made during the game? The crowd just leaves, no words spoken? The man to the right crashes the bord in anger when loosing..? or jumping up in happiness when winning..?

An excellent B&W, strong and very well balanced.
The concentration that we can see on the faces of all the participants (viewers and players) make the photo a perfect example of "story".
Thomas Ljungberg  Thank you for your comments. I'm glad that the "action" I felt in the scene is perceived by you.

Thomas Ljungberg  Thank you for your comment Yoshi. Having a viewer say that it feels like he/she is present at the scene of an image, without a camera between, is the best feedback a photog can receive. Thanx.

I wonder what he will do? Great story unfolding. Great shot.
Thomas Ljungberg  Thank you Angela for stopping by. I do wonder myself. I did not stick around long enough to see it unfold. My family lost patience after 10-15 minutes... ;-)

Congratulations Thomas! You can almost feel the tension between the two players and in the audience as well!
Very nice one!
Thomas Ljungberg  Thank you Michael.
Yes one could feel the intensity of the game when standing there. I have no idea how the boardgame worked, but the atmosphere was great. Small nods in the heads, grounts from the players, small nods between people in the audience.

FABULOUS work, Thomas....reeeeally GOOD stuff! :)
Thomas Ljungberg  Thank you Em for your kind words. After what feels like 40 days in the desert, I finally got a picture published.

It's funny becouse this is almost an invers of my "All eyes on me".
- All adult men instead of children
- No eyes are showing
- Everyone is looking down instead of up
- Very serious mood instead of happy
- High pov instead of low

great shot ! love how the whole frame except the board area is filled with faces and heads. So lots to look at, and they push the eye towards the center and the two players.
Thomas Ljungberg  Thank you Koen for the nice positive comments. I'm flattered.

You've accomplished the impossible here, Thomas. Tell the truth--you hired these people and directed each of them to stand exactly where and as we see them. Great light, fabulous tonalities. Superb.
Thomas Ljungberg  Thank you so much for your very kind words King. The truth is, I can't affort to pay my subjects as some other photographers around here... ;-)

I stumbled apone this small square just by Sago Street in Chinatown when my family visited Singapore on vaccation. It was 30-35 degrees outside and I felt as if I just had taken a shower...
Under a small roof wher 5-6 tables with men playing boardgames. But there was something special with this game. It had drawn all these people around it and one could feel the tension in the game. Nobody said anything. I could tell that the man to the right was in trouble, he was pinned down in the game. He grounted and raised his hand several times to make a draw but changed his mind all the time. The man to the left made quick draws immediately in response to the man to the right. And not a word was spoken by anybody.
I did not see any money or betting but one could feel that things were at stake in the game...
I got up high from a wall just by the table and got a couple of shots.
I don't know who came out with victory...
/Thomas
