As i said in screening, this black & white photo gives a certain feel to it.. It feelt like the 1900 century photo, with a lot of feel, a documentary feel and i think it makes its way through to the wiewer more that the coloured ones. Love it, i really think its fantastic!

Excellent I assume this is a composition of two images which have been combined really well. I like the intense contrast and the vignetting around the figure.
Lars Raun  Hi Ian and thanks! Its not a composite image, though many before you has thought the same :-) Its a single 45 second exposure. The texture is a secondary image though..
Ian James  Cool so the ladder is cantilevered out of the ground on the beach? Out of interest why did you need a 45 second exposure was it late evening? Sorry if I am not reading the image right I am just fascinated to know how you got to this result.

Lars Raun  what does cantilevered mean? :-) I just buried it deep enough in the sand to carry my weight. I chose long exposure to flatten out the water. It was taken mid day, using a strong ND filter.
Ian James  Cantilevered means to be supported at one end only.

Thanks for the explanation. I always find it fascinating to try to visualise what the original image looks like when a photo has been processed so well like this. Nice one.
