By now you must know that this is a special image indeed. But I have to add to the chorus - stunning.

I am in awe of the beauty of the image. At the same time I think that her expression is a perfect counterpoint. Her face is almost accusing, and that with the ribbons and the whole of the image simply leaves me wondering whether there's a central motif behind the image.

To tell the truth I wasn't sure myself about the background.. it just seemed to me that on black it looks kind of pale, so the white one seemed a good alternative :)

What a fascinating (and not a little disturbing) image. I laughed out loud when I read how you shot this - I had visions of a ritzy studio with all the lighting and backdrops you could wish for - not in your bedroom with the camera falling out of the wardrobe!! What a talent you are to create such a mesmerising piece of art in this environment. Congratulations on an outstanding portfolio! I've just uploaded my first image and its in screening at the moment so fingers-crossed. A weird gauge appeared next to it going with 100% and 1) Originality - don't know if that's a good sign or not.

I wish I could afford the lights and a normal room with equipment, but not yet.. maybe one day when I get famous and rich, lol ;).. until then I use what I have, and honestly I am quite happy with it :)

Concerning your newly uploaded image - first of all good luck to you and don't get dismayed if it's rejected, it happens to all of us (incl. me :)). 100% originality means that someone voted against, pointing originality as a reason for rejection. But it doesn't mean anything - your picture can still get through :).. I'll be looking forward to you see your works :)

I live on the outskirts of the small village and the nearest civilization is one hour drive from me. So I am alone, and I work alone :).. As one of my favourite photographers said - "All my portraits are selfportraits (I am always with myself)".

Digger mest disse fargetonene (!) du har valgt, og dét til tross for at jeg ikke liker rosa. Men her er det bare nydelig.

That was very pleasant to hear :)
Absolutely no secrets on my side, can gladly share the details of my workflow with you :)
I take all my pics in my bedroom and use the light from the window. Haven't got a remote control yet so have to use the self-timer in my camera - 10 seconds to stand nicely, lol :) The hair I shot separately - me lying on the floor and the camera on a tripod right above me, I usually fix the tripod inside the wardrobe - and every time I do it I'm afraid immensely that the camera will fall and break into pieces.. well, what won't one do for the sake of art! ;).. The "dress" is also shot separately - these are parts of a real dress that I have + the laces..
I mostly work in Photoshop CS3. The tones I achieved with a trick I like very much - you convert the image to b/w and then set the blending mode of that b/w layer to "screen". In most cases it works great!.. The background I painted myself in Corel Painter X with oil brush (thick camel it's called if I'm not mistaken)..
That was it, I think :) If you still wonder about smth, please feel free to ask.. and thanks again :)
