End of midnight summer light
This is late in august, and one of the late nights when the sun is glowing as a red ball from the north.

I've seen thousands of photos like this. While the colours are nice and the composition minimal, there are hundreds of thousands of images like this taken by amateurs on flickr alone.

Many thanks’ for the comments. I have been very much surprised over the overwhelming many views, and I’m speechless.

I took this picture from our sitting room, through an open window, and it was impossible to use a tripod, and there was no further time to find other solutions.
I had to keep my equipment as high as possible to avoid lines, and ugly roofs in the skyline, standing on a shaking stepladder.

To the shortest point of view it’s about 1.5 km, and the higher point is a mountain 20-30 km away.

Thanks again ;-)

The other one was better as an abstract. But hey, 848 views in only 2 days (even with only two comments) puts it on the first page of the all time list.....
