It's funny but some other people told me the same :).. Maybe just on a couple of images I look a bit like her, but in real life I think we're quite different :)

Emily Bem It's funny what people see. I have a friend that models for me on occasion and EVERYONE gets us mixed up in photos.....but in real life I doubt those same people could pick out anything similair about us other than curly hair.

This is a very sensitive self portrait. The mood is just melancholy enough to be reflective, and not over emoted. The mood is stark and the untouched wine is a good counterpoint for that.

Daria Endresen Thank you, Ralf :) actually I was thinking about the future work connected with this picture.. to be honest, it was just a sketch, kind of a rehearsal, to see how the light falls etc - I planned to make another version after that.. But the sketch ended up in painter, and I liked the final result so much I desided to keep it :)

Daria Endresen OK, Robin, a quick tutorial - just for you ;)
1. install Corel Painter X
2. open any portrait in it
3. choose an oil brush from the Cloners
4. and start painting!.. as easy as that :D
.. wasn't sure about the glass but it just happened to be there :) Thanks a lot for your comment, very glad you liked it :)

Thanks for the tips you have given me Dee! Still have to load the program somewhere. Is it easy to get btw on the net, ya think?
Ok, I did paint some euhm... paintings in acrylic and oil, but this ps painting is still something new for me. That's maybe why I am considering buying a Wacom board someday. That is if enough money is available. A mouse will have to do for now. Just like you are doing it, I dunnow...?
Anyway, still like your rehearsal image here. So when is the real deal?

Very soft picture, almost "unitonal" if you see what I mean, which adds to the general mood of the picture. The square format works fine here, but the most amazing part of that photograph is the model imho ;) You've got such wonderful hair, almost like silk :)

Daria Endresen Thank you very much, Viet-Tuan :) my hair is no that silky in real life - it's the work of the Painter ;) painting in some areas with oil brush gives it that soft look :)
