Is there any Copyright infringement issue with this photo? The sargent in this photo looks like an American actor. Did you have to get a release from the film studio?
Ron Sanders  All photographs require a copyright if the intent is for commercial usage. The photograph was not made on a military base or a movie studio.

Fabulous retro feel, and the barracks-look to the background supports the story so well!

Just plain drop dead perfect. ;-)

It has this awesome 1960's feel and look to it.
Ron Sanders  Thanks Richard, I have been following your comments on analog photography, which to me adds a special quality your words.

Ron Sanders  Thanks for taking the time to look at it, and make a comment.

A great idea and well executed. It makes me smile and also think about how different people perceive the world and their role in society. Very good!
Ron Sanders  Marcello, I am humbled to receive this positive remark from such a fine photographer.
Marcello Della Corte  You are very kind: thank you! :)

Is this Emmett Kelly, Jr.? This is clearly the "Weary Willie" character made famous by Emmett Kelly (the father of Emmett Kelly, Jr.), who died in 1979. I had the privilege of working with the original Weary Willie (the father) in Boston where he was hired to do his act during the big circus scene in Smetana's "The Bartered Bride" in 1973.

This is, of course, a totally hilarious photo. One assumes this was a staged confrontation.
Ron Sanders  Yes King, I staged it. However the characters are real. I was at an event in Atlanta and there was this clown standing not to far from a recruiters booth. (Cannot remember the name he gave me). I was lucky. Thanks for the comment.

This is just killer! :) Excellent idea and fabulous excecution! Just wonderful, Ron!
Ron Sanders  Thank you for the kind words. I admire your photograph, "Artists Block" . It is moving, well composed and above all reveals the way we all feel from time to time. I can also see the subject getting up and walking out with the conviction that he will triumph eventually.
Ilja Hackman  Thanks, Ron! I was gonna say but I forgot; this picture really represents the way I felt when I joined the Army. You really feel like a clown when the officers shout at you and makes you do stunts :)
Ron Sanders  Yep, I went through basic too. Not my favorite experience.

Excellent...perfect instant, perfect composition... and a lot of fun for us ;-)
Ron Sanders  Thank you. Your comments are very gracious. Your photograph "Me and my double.." is a tour de force in excellent composition and tonality. "Stop your silly things is touching and that little girl in the background who seems so mesmerized with the young mans antics adds an outstanding touch. (Also, why are you French so good at this)

I guess that the officer is not too keen on geese. I like it. mal
Ron Sanders  Thanks Mal, you have no idea how many people have not perceived the goose. Your portfolio is stunning. Almost too much to try to absorb in one sitting, but I have the intention of studying you work closely over time. Once again thank you. Your comments are very gracious.
Mal Smart  not gracious Ron, just honest! I'd like to know a little more about this image. Was it staged or some kind of candid capture, I care little about which it was because the message gets through loud and clear. I like the shot. mal
Ron Sanders  Mal I put the two together on the fly at an event in Atlanta. At the time I was experimenting with emphasizing a concept using elements around me. The hard part is getting people to understand the concept and participate. The inspiration was the photograph of the raising the flag on Iwo Jima.
Mal Smart  great thinking, you really pulled it off. thanks for the explanation. mal

This is a lot of fun, very good photo!
Ron Sanders  I appreciate you comments. It is an honor to have even one photograph accepted here. I have always veered away from clubs. However this site is so impressive and the photographers so serious I feel I've found a home. Your photographs of Japan are wonderful. Thanks so much.
