What an amazin shoot! It has the dynamic range that puts me on the spot, and viewing it with my own eyes. This is exactly how i think HDR should be used.
A powerful sunset, with amazing colours! Love it!

Great colours Scott! Difficult to take an original sunset shot. Did you have to use a graduated NDF or significantly tone down the sun in post-processing on this one? marcus

Scott Crouse Thanks Marcus! Yes I did use an ND8 filter on this one and then it's a 9 exposure HDR with a light tonemapping. I try not to go to aggressive, and it worked really nice on this one.

Scott Crouse Thanks Tim! Ya, it was a bonus. I waited trying to get them to leave but they never did. I just kept my fingers crossed that they wouldn't move much while I took the shot.

I'm enjoying your Bermuda photos- they're making me homesick! I've just come to this site so hopefully I'll be getting some photos up from Bermuda too. Gosh the nerve of people to criticise the turquoise. I guess they need to see it in real life to believe it! You found a good spot to get the beach in too.

Scott Crouse Thank you so much Lucy. I just love this island so much and it makes me feel good when I can get others to appreciate it. I lived there for 3 years (out at Daniels Head with the Canadian Military) and return every year. I have such a love affair with the island and her people. The turquoise water is always so beautiful. It's funny, a friend of mine on the island (one of the Triminghams) and I were looking at your St. Davids picture this morning (we were on skype chatting) until we realized it wasn't Bermuda. We were admiring the picture. It never dawned on us that you were also from Bermuda. What a coincidence!

Scott Crouse Thanks Barbara, I have to say I know the pain of trying to get sunset and landscapes though on this site, it's tough! I was getting pretty worried through the screening process. The comments were just killing me, way to much stress ;-) hahaha. Take care!

Scott - Having endured over a week of -15 degree weather here in Minneapolis, this photo caught my eye immediately. One of the first things to catch my eye was the color of the water in the foreground and how it contrasts with the rock formations on shore. A beautiful shot. I wish I were one of the people on the beach.

Scott Crouse Thanks Kurt! We've also been suffering from a cold snap up this way so I also find this shot alluring. It's interesting that some like the turquoise water around the rock and yet others didn't like it in screening. That is the colour of the water in the shallows around the island, it was very accented due to the darkness approaching. I as well wish I were back on the beach, next Oct! Cheers mate.
